HAPPENING NOW THROUGH OCTOBER 25TH: SUPPORT LOCAL BOOKSTORES & SEND BOOKS TO PEOPLE IN PRISON TO DOUBLE THE IMPACT OF YOUR DONATION
Celebrate Prison Banned Books Week with us October 19th-25th. Did you know prisons are the largest censors of books in the US? Learn more at prisonbannedbooksweek.org Thanks to an anonymous donor, any book bought for Books Through Bars from our online registry or from our partner bookstores this week will be matched dollar-for-dollar with a cash donation.
How does it work?
1. Go to one of our partner bookstores
2. Buy a book from our display & leave it for us with the cashier
3. We’ll pick up all the books at the end of the week & report how much was raised for a cash donation match
Thanks so much to our partner bookstores:
Bookish Notions, 11 E. State St., Media, PA
Celia Bookshop, 102 Park Ave., Swarthmore, PA
Moore Books, 28 W. Eagle Rd., Havertown, PA
Seven Stones, 212 W. State St., Media, PA
Alternatively, purchase books from our registry on bookshop.org, which also supports local independent bookstores. When you purchase a book from our registry it will be automatically shipped to us. https://bookshop.org/wishlists/397d439f6fb037574bd0e9d2de67b4bfe2ea77a9
