🙏🤲Let's make it rumble for Shawn Monette🙏
On Monday, May 25, 2026, Shawn Monette was rushed to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh after being found unresponsive by his mother, Lisa Monette.
The day before, Shawn wasn’t feeling well and believed his blood sugar may have been elevated. The following morning, Lisa went to check on him and immediately knew something was wrong. She called 911, and Shawn was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
Shortly after arriving at the hospital, Shawn suffered cardiac arrest. Medical staff worked quickly and were able to resuscitate him, but not before he went several minutes without a heartbeat. Since that day, Shawn has remained in the Intensive Care Unit fighting for his life.
During his hospitalization, Shawn developed pneumonia and has continued to face serious medical complications. Doctors have performed neurological testing and have expressed concerns about the effects the lack of oxygen may have had on his brain. Right now, Shawn’s future remains uncertain, but his family continues to pray, hope, and stand by his side every single day.
Anyone who knows Shawn knows he is deeply loved. He is a son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin, and a friend. His family has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support they have already received, but they are now facing one of the most difficult times of their lives.
Lisa has dedicated her life to caring for Shawn and has not left his side. Family members are making the trip from Chazy to Plattsburgh every day to be with him, support one another, and spend every possible moment by his bedside.
As the days continue, the financial burden continues to grow. Travel expenses, meals, household bills, rent, and other everyday expenses do not stop, even during a crisis. Shawn also contributed financially, and his absence has created additional hardship for the family.
While we are all praying for Shawn’s recovery, the family is also being forced to prepare for possibilities that no family should ever have to face. If the worst were to happen, there are currently no funds available for funeral or cremation expenses. The family is doing everything they can to focus on Shawn while also trying to navigate an uncertain future.
