Octoberfest 5k, 10k & 20 mile bike in Peru NY

With the well deserved Peru FD construction taking place this year, we've made the difficult decision to not hold the Octoberfest in 2026. We will see you in 2027 better than ever!

We diligently worked on an alternative location, but with a few changes in Peru and without having to redo 3 courses for just one year, this was the most efficient route, although the most disappointing.

One last post of gratitude before the new year!

💥 The Volunteers! 💥
These incredible people are near and dear to our family. This event is truly family-friendly because it’s created and run by family and friends as a true labor of love. ❤️

We’re blessed with an amazing group of volunteers—family, more family, and the close family friends who’ve been part of our lives for decades (which makes them family too!). Many of them have been with us since day one. 🥹 How lucky are we to have such strong, long-standing support?

You may have seen their friendly faces over the years:
• The powerhouse crew at packet pickup who check you in and out quickly and efficiently.
• “Thew Girls,” my mom’s cousins, who have helped with parking for many years (and before them, generational family friends parked vehicles for many years).
• The “twin” blondes at the food tables—sisters and my besties since high school.
• My sister-in-law and her mom crushing it at the apparel table.
• Our auction-table star who has been nailing it the past few years.
• My uncle (Dad’s brother), aunt, and cousins greeting you at the finish line.
• One of my brothers on the mic as MC.
• And of course, the beer tent—always full of friends, family, and plenty of shenanigans.

Without these people, I could never do this. I’m forever grateful for their time, love, and dedication every single year. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ❤️❤️

We have another big shout out - The incredible Peru FD!

Not only are we extremely appreciative and thankful for them and their support as they open their fire house to us and help with traffic control, but we as a community are beyond lucky as they are very active in the community throughout the year helping/attending events, doing the Christmas lighted fire trucks, etc! We’re fortunate to have such dedicated and selfless individuals volunteering their time and being away from their families. Our own grandfather and father proudly served.

Little back story - When I was a child, the fire dept put on the fireman’s field day! It was my favorite event. I still remember it to this day. Remembering the grounds and activities; that event is how the spot came to mind for the Octoberfest. It is really the perfect venue for so many reasons and while we can’t ever express our true appreciation, we Thank You all so much from the bottom of our hearts! 💙🖤
