WELCOME TO SERVE-TEMBER & ACT-OBER!

Last year, we launched SERVE-TEMBER to fill September with opportunities to put Service Above Self into action. This year, it’s back for year TWO, and we’re keeping the momentum going with our newly established ACT-OBER!

Over the next two months, Perrysburg Rotary Club will be serving alongside some incredible community partners, including Rotary Club of Maumee, Ohio, Let’s Build Beds, Perrysburg Schools Interact Club, the Wood County Committee On Aging, Garmin, and Little Free Library.

📚 Collect books for Little Free Libraries
🍽️ Deliver RotaMeals with the Wood County Committee on Aging
💧 Keep runners hydrated at the Garmin Race Water Station
🌳 Clean up Side Cut with our friends from Maumee Rotary
🛏️ Build beds alongside Let’s Build Beds & Perrysburg Interact

There’s something for everyone and plenty of opportunities to roll up your sleeves, connect with fellow Rotarians, and make a difference right here in our community.

Two months. More ways to serve. One Rotary.

Let’s make our second annual SERVE-TEMBER and first-ever ACT-OBER count!

A Legacy That Will Keep Turning Pages.

As Rotary joins the world in remembering Dolly Parton, we celebrate a legacy that reached far beyond music and touched one of Rotary’s seven areas of focus: Basic Education and Literacy.

In 2021, the Perrysburg Rotary Club awarded $4,396 to support United Way in Wood County Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, helping provide books to children right here in the 43551 ZIP code.

That connection continues. At PETS this year, Rotary leaders from across our District joined together in support of Rotary for Reading and the Imagination Library of Ohio, showing just how closely Dolly’s mission and Rotary’s mission align.

From Perrysburg to our District and Rotary International, literacy continues to Create Lasting Impact in memory of Dolly Parton.

The music will live on. The books will keep arriving. The pages will keep turning.

Thank you, Dolly, for letting Rotary be part of the journey!!

This Friday, August 28th, we’re welcoming one of our own, Rotarian and Wood County Prosecuting Attorney Paul Dobson, as our guest speaker!

Paul will give us a behind the scenes look at the Wood County Prosecutor's Office and the important work he and his team do throughout our community.

And, of course, we’re hoping he’ll share a few helpful tips on how to make sure the only place you’re visiting Paul is at Rotary.

Join us for a great Friday of fellowship, learning and hopefully staying on the right side of the law!

What a fun way to head into the weekend!

Today we welcomed Allison Aey from Nature's Nursery, along with her special guest, Jefferson the American Kestrel!

Jefferson has quite the story, and Allison gave us a chance to learn more about him and the important work Nature’s Nursery does every day for wildlife throughout Northwest Ohio.

Check out the video to hear Allison share a little more about Jefferson and his story.

Thanks for a great Rotary Friday, Allison!

Have a wonderfully safe and fun weekend, everyone!

Rotary Around the World: Gdańsk, Poland 🇵🇱

This summer, Perrysburg Rotarian Lidia Ebersole and her family traveled to Poland to visit family, and of course, she found a Rotary connection along the way!

Lidia stopped by this beautiful monument commissioned by the Rotary Club of Gdańsk-Śródmieście, featuring a miniature of the Żuraw (Gdańsk Crane), one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Dating back to the 15th century, the Żuraw served as both Europe’s largest medieval port crane and a fortified city gate, symbolizing Gdańsk’s rich maritime history.

No matter where our travels take us, Rotary has a way of reminding us that we’re part of something bigger. From Perrysburg to Poland, the spirit of service and fellowship truly connects the world.

Have you spotted a Rotary club, landmark, or wheel while traveling?

Share your photos, we’d love to feature them in our Rotary Around the World series!

Join us this Friday, August 21st, as we welcome Allison Aey, Executive Director of Nature's Nursery, for a closer look at the incredible work happening for wildlife throughout Northwest Ohio.

Nature’s Nursery is dedicated to improving the well-being of Northwest Ohio wildlife populations and habitats through rehabilitation, conservation education, and community involvement. Each year, their team cares for thousands of injured, orphaned, and sick native animals while helping our community better understand how we can coexist with our wild neighbors.

And Allison won’t be coming alone!

We’ll be welcoming an opossum AND a snake to Friday’s meeting as wildlife ambassadors!

August Impact Box: Nature’s Nursery

Nature’s Nursery is also the focus of our August Impact Box, giving our members another simple way to Create Lasting Impact right here in our community. Members are encouraged to bring an item from our August collection list to help support the everyday needs of the animals in their care.

One Month. One Mission. One Community.

Come ready to learn, give back, and maybe get a little closer to some of Northwest Ohio’s wildest residents!
