🚣‍♀️ Every experienced rower was once a beginner.

This video features one of our experienced junior rowers sharing a boat with a brand-new athlete from our very first Junior Learn to Row session of the season. Watching confidence grow from the very first stroke is one of the most rewarding parts of our sport!

If you’ve ever been curious about rowing, now is the perfect time to give it a try. Our upcoming Junior Learn to Row sessions are open for registration, and we’d love to welcome you to the boathouse.

Not a junior? We haven’t forgotten about the adults! Our Masters Beginner Rowing Class begins this coming week, and there’s still time to sign up. Whether you’re looking for a new challenge, a great workout, or a supportive community, rowing has something for everyone.

The beginner class sequence will focus on proper technique for the erg machine, sculling, and sweep rowing as well as exposure to all classes of rowing shells. Our coaches/instructors are all USRowing certified and have many years of rowing experience that includes competition at the collegiate level.

The goal of the class is for students to be qualified to row during PRC open row sessions. Dates and a general agenda are below and more information is available on our website:

Our Learn to Row event was a huge success, and we loved welcoming so many new faces to the boathouse. A huge THANK YOU to our amazing coaches, masters rowers, and enthusiastic juniors who showed up to support, encourage, and help our novices get out on the water!

The energy, teamwork, and community spirit were incredible to see. ❤️

After a successful spring season, PRC members rolled up their sleeves to organize and clean the boathouse, and it’s looking better than ever.

With all ergs in working order and new oar racks in place, we’re ready for a great summer on the water.

Novice Rowers Needed – Learn-to-Row Event

We are excited to be hosting a Learn-to-Row event to introduce prospective rowers to our sport and community! This free event is a wonderful opportunity to share our love of rowing with newcomers.

📅 Date: Saturday, August 23rd, 2025
🕖 Time: Three sessions beginning at 7:00 AM and concluding by 10:00 AM
📍 Location: Pensacola Rowing Club

Participants will enjoy an introduction to:

The basics of rowing and different classes of boats

Sculling

Use of the Concept2 ergometer

And much more!

To make this event a success, we need the support of our members. Volunteers are needed to:

Welcome and register participants

Assist on the dock and with equipment/rowing

Demonstrate rowing techniques on the erg

Share your enthusiasm and answer questions

If you are interested in learning to row, please email [email protected]
by Thursday at 6:00 PM to reserve your spot. You will be assigned to one of the 7:00, 8:00, or 9:00 AM sessions. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel in case you get wet.
