Adult 1st place winners also receive a one-night stay at the Holiday Inn Resort on Okaloosa Island, and youth first place winners receive a day pass to the pool and property at the Holiday Inn Resort on Okaloosa Island. 2nd and 3rd place finishers receive an official America 250 certificate of recognition.

Dear Sponsors and Golfers,

Due to significant hurricane damage at Pensacola Country Club, today’s Jerry Pate Scouting Golf Tournament, scheduled for October 13, has been postponed. The club has closed for an undetermined period while its team addresses cleanup and safety concerns.

We are working with the club to determine a new tournament date and will share that information as soon as it is confirmed. The safety of our players, volunteers, and course staff comes first, and we appreciate your patience as our community recovers.

While our day on the course must wait, the purpose behind this event remains just as important. Proceeds help Gulf Coast Council provide Scouting opportunities and scholarship assistance to families facing financial barriers. This tournament is an important part of meeting our annual fundraising goals and ensuring that cost does not keep a young person from participating.

If you are able, we hope you will keep your sponsorship or team commitment in place as we reschedule. For those whose support is still pending, contributions now will help sustain these opportunities while we work toward a new date. We also understand that the storm has affected many of you personally and professionally. Please reach out if you need to discuss your participation or have any questions.

Troop 401 met a real Riveter. 💪

Delphine Klaput is 101 years old. During World War II, she worked in an aircraft factory, part of the generation of women the country came to know as the Rosie the Riveters.

She spent this week making stops around our community, and our Scouts got to be one of them.

Thank you, Delphine, for your service and for spending part of your visit with our Scouts!

Thank you, Walmart! 💙

On Wednesday, our Scouts had a front-row seat to something special: the grand opening of the Walmart Neighborhood Market Crestview. The energy was incredible, the crowd was huge, and the Walmart team put together a program that truly celebrated this community.

And then they handed our Scouts a $2,500 check.

For the Gulf Coast Council, that means more kids around a campfire, more Eagle projects in our neighborhoods, and more leadership opportunities for youth across the Panhandle.

Thank you to Walmart and the entire Crestview team for believing in our Scouts and in this community from day one.

🍿 Spotted around town this weekend: local Scouts, a folding table, and a mountain of popcorn.

Here's the secret: it's not really about the kettle corn (though the kettle corn is 🔥). Every purchase funds camp weekends, gear, and badges, and 70% of your purchase stays right here on the Emerald Coast.

One month into the school year, and we'd be remiss not to show you how our Scouts spent their summer break. 🇺🇸

While school was out, Gulf Coast Council Scouts were in the buildings getting them ready for your kids. Picnic tables and planters built. Outdoor eating areas revitalized. Benches constructed, campuses painted, furniture moved, grounds cleaned up. Hundreds of volunteer hours across multiple schools in our community.

Some were Eagle Scout service projects. Others were entire troops and packs showing up together with their families and leaders. All of it happened on their own time, for free, during the one stretch of the year they could have taken off.

Thank you to every Scout, leader, parent, and school that made it happen. 🦅

Twenty-five years ago, we saw the best of humanity rise to meet the worst of days.

First responders ran into danger.

Neighbors helped neighbors.

Scouts offered a helping hand by sending water, supplies, and even putting notes of thanks inside gloves meant for heroes on the front lines.

That’s the duty of every Scout — to help other people at all times.

Today, we take a moment to remember. Then find a way to serve.
