🦈 White shark Nori has returned to Atlantic Canada nearly 4,000 miles later

After spending the winter off the Carolinas, Nori’s latest ping placed her back near the same area of Nova Scotia where she was originally tagged in Oct. 2025.

Her return is helping researchers better understand how white sharks navigate and revisit important seasonal habitats year after year.

🦈 WHITE SHARK NORI RETURNS TO NOVA SCOTIA

Juvenile female white shark Nori has returned to the same area of Nova Scotia where she was originally tagged in October 2025.

Nori’s latest ping (May 25) placed her off Mahone Bay, just ~7 miles from her original tagging location, where she was sampled by researchers from the .

Her return suggests a strong degree of seasonal site fidelity, meaning she is revisiting familiar habitats that may provide reliable environmental conditions and prey availability year after year. Repeated returns like these help researchers better understand critical migration corridors and predict when sharks are most likely to use these northern habitats.
