🍎 Educators are at the heart of PCEF! 👈

And who better to help shape how we support Park City students and schools than the teachers in our classrooms every day?

New this year, two educators from every PCSD school will serve on PCEF’s Educator Task Force, bringing ideas, feedback and perspective directly from their schools to our work. When educators have a voice, our funding can better respond to what students and classrooms need most.

🍁 We’re excited to launch the new Educator Task Force this fall!

🦝 Students in PCEF-supported Afterschool programming put their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test with the Jimothy STEM Challenge.

The Challenge:
🖇️ Using only paper clips that they could bend and reshape, students had to overturn an upside-down cup (representing a trashcan 🗑️ ), refill it with trash, place a popsicle stick over it, and balance Jimothy on the top...if he fell off, everything started over.

Students practiced communication skills by dividing tasks, and used teamwork to solve a problem. They also learned a little about Jimothy, a racoon in Seattle, that has short spine syndrome and how the environment can affect survival.

💚 For the first time, Park City elementary schools will each have their own full-time, dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) this school year!

Having a dedicated LCSW in each school means more resources to address students’ social and emotional needs while keeping the focus on teaching and learning. Students will have greater access to trained professionals within their schools who deeply care for each student and work to make a positive impact each day.

Funding for this expansion is supported in part through a PCEF Innovation Grant thanks to PCEF donors.
