Calling all Indigenous women storytellers! Applications are live for the 2027 Merata Mita Fellowship. Deadline: November 3, 2026

One selected fellow will receive cash grants, mentorship opportunities, and and a yearlong continuum of support with activities, including a trip to the Sundance Film Festival, access to strategic and creative services offered by Sundance Institute artist programs.

Thirty years after “Unzipped” first strutted onto screens at the 1995 Sundance Film Festival, Douglas Keeve’s fashion doc is back in theaters. Digitally restored in 4K by Sundance Institute and UCLA Film & Television Archive, the restoration premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival.

Announcing the filmmakers selected for the 2026 Building Bridges Fellowship.

Funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, Sundance Institute and Islamic Scholarship Fund, the fellowship provides emerging filmmakers telling U.S. Muslim stories with artist grants, mentorship, professional development, and year-round creative support.

This October, the fellows will gather at Duke Farms in New Jersey for a retreat focused on community, creative exchange, and artistic growth, with guidance from a distinguished group of industry advisors.
