The 2026 Racing Season Is On!
The fist week of racing for all fleets is in the bag. Both Tuesday and Thursday night brought excellent sailing conditions, with nice northerly pressure in the course.

Thank you to all the volunteers that made racing possible this week. Claudio Brasca, Tom & Heidi Kammer, David Nix, Kim Plavan and Sebastian Czechowski, Marty Smihula, Craig & Liz Horton, Alix Suter, and Brandyn Smith.

We had a good turnout on both nights. Thank you to those who stuck around for dinner after sailing, it was nice to see everyone and catch up! Thank you also for your patience as we are eagerly awaiting for our Race Committee signal boat to come back from the shop with a new engine.

Founder's Cup - Season Kick-Off Party For ALL

J/22 Intro To Race Clinic & All Fleets Practice Night

Join us on Thursday, May 28th for a free clinic designed for Access members and people interested in joining the J/22 race fleet.

We will spend 40 minutes in the classroom learning about racing, and then 80 minutes on the water, in boats, learning and practicing the basic with our team of volunteer instructors.

We have 12 spots available for this clinic - of which Access members and current members will have priority. RSVP NOW! We will confirm spots on Wednesday 5/27.

PCSA's J/22 race fleet is welcoming new sailors. In the spirit of fleet building, we are offering training opportunities for sailors new to racing. The J/22 fleet is intended to be inclusive and educational. This is a great way to start racing. Racing happens on Thursday nights, June - September. More information about racing and racing registration can be found at SailPC.org

We are saddened to share the passing of John Aadland, a valued member of the Park City Sailing community and a dedicated volunteer. John passed away on May 10, 2026, surrounded by family and friends in Heber City, Utah at the age of 64.

John was a sailing instructor in our adult program, a member of the J/22 fleet, and a committed volunteer to the organization. John was an incredibly warm, generous, and sincere friend to everyone he knew at PCSA. As a decorated veteran, John was instrumental in his volunteerism in our veteran sailing programs.

John lived a life defined by service, adventure, and a deep love of the outdoors. He served 27 years in the United States Air Force, earning multiple honors while flying KC-10 missions and supporting critical operations. Beyond his military service, John brought energy and enthusiasm to everything he did—from skiing and biking to sailing and mentoring others in the outdoors.

At Park City Sailing, John will be remembered for his generosity, his willingness to lend a hand, and the spirit of adventure and education he shared with those around him. He had a gift for bringing people together and encouraging others to get out on the water and enjoy the experience alongside him.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to John’s family and loved ones. He will be deeply missed, and his impact on our community will not be forgotten.
A Military Honors Ceremony and Innichement will be held Sepember 12th.
