🎨🌈 Mixing Colors, Making Discoveries! 🌈🎨

Our TK/K students got hands-on with color theory by exploring how primary colors mix to create secondary colors! 🔴🟡🔵 Using Model Magic, they experimented with color mixing and shaped their own colorful color wheels.

It was a fun-filled exploration of creativity, curiosity, and exciting discoveries as our little artists saw color magic happen right before their eyes! ✨

Kudos to our Teaching Artists Shana Johnson Shana Johnson , Jessica Sacks Jessie aka Sassy aka Ms. Snacks , and Sara Waters Sara Waters for guiding our young artists through this colorful adventure! 💙

Faces, Forms & Creative Expression! 🎨✨

Teaching Artist Janet Moore Janet Moore introduced students to the bold, abstract work of artist Kimmy Cantrell! Students created their own colorful portraits inspired by Cantrell’s style, drawing each feature step-by-step with colored pencils. 👀👃👄

Then they took their designs from 2D to 3D, recreating their portraits as relief sculptures using Crayola Model Magic air-dry clay. Students added color with markers to bring their clay creations to life! 🎨

We love seeing students explore an artist’s work and then make it their own. 💙

A Little Shape, a Lot of Imagination! ✨🎨

Our TK/K students explored shapes and color during the Playful Shapes lesson from Rebecca Picker | Art Projects for Kids ! 🔵🟨🔺

We started by reading Tangled by Anne Miranda, then students brought their creations to life using Caran d’Ache watercolor crayons. By activating the crayons with water, they transformed them into paint! 🖍️💦🎨

A big thank you to our Teaching Artists Jessica Sacks , Piper Scott Piper Scott , and Sara Waters Sara Waters for helping our little artists explore, create, and have fun! 💙

From TFT Student to Local Chef! 👩‍🍳🎨

Our upcoming VISIONARIES Welcome Back Party will be catered by Dayana Rubio, a local private chef and proud Tools For Tomorrow alumna! 💙

Dayana was a TFT student at Martin Van Buren Elementary in 2014–2015. Now, more than a decade later, she’s back as the chef behind our Membership Party!

🤯🎨 Mind-Blowing Portraits! 🎨🤯

TFT Teaching Artist Sara Waters .doubleu brought some wild creativity to the Boys & Girls Club of Cathedral City! Students created colorful self-portraits using Sharpies and crayons, then used watercolor paint and straws to blow their hair into wonderfully wild designs. 🌈💨

But that’s not all—they also learned some mind-blowing facts and chose their favorite to write alongside their portrait! 🧠✨

A fun lesson combining art, creativity, and learning— inspired by Paint Blowing Portraits from 💙

Every portrait was full of personality, creativity, and a little bit of fun! 🎨

🖍️✨ Look What We’re Creating! ✨🖍️

Our TK/K Creative Club program in Desert Sands USD had a fantastic first week! Our youngest artists explored all the ways lines can move, bend, zigzag, curve, and swirl—and then brought their ideas to life with color. 🎨

Washable markers added color to their Sharpie drawings, and then water activated the ink, transforming their colorful lines into beautiful watercolor-like paint! 💧🌈

BIG THANKS to Rebecca Picker | Art Projects for Kids for our Line Types lesson, and Candace Whitman for our story, Lines That Wiggle. 📖

We love watching our students experiment, explore, and discover new ways to create! 💙
