SMaRT Education is the longest running provider of STEAM education camps, classes, workshops and mobile technology labs for kids in the Coachella Valley.

SMaRT Education is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation founded in 2010 by two passionate moms dedicated to improving access to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) for the kids of the Coachella Valley. The idea was to provide students with the resources, education, and life skills that would open doors to scholarships and lead to opportunities as competitive industry professional

s. We started with 20 students, 1 elementary school, and a crazy plan. We now serve over 3,500 students through eight counties in Southern California through exciting partnerships with school districts, ASES sites, youth organizations, museums, and community science centers.

SMaRT Education Cofounder and CEO Maria Wren and Board Vice President Calista Vassios were excited to attend the Palm Springs Air Museum's Women in Aviation Gala last night. Both would like to thank Fred Bell for being a long time SMaRT Education supporter, and Phillip Large, who produced the gala video Maria was part of. Ms Maria was very excited to meet Joe Mantegna who plays Rossi on one of her all-time favorite shows, Criminal Minds!

Real life science gives kids the best opportunity to learn how FUN science can be! Our Winter/Spring session of STEAM Explorers for homeschool kids ages 9-11 let's kids explore science through hands on group learning. In this session, Destination Science!, we'll learn how to collect samples, and test variables to find out which disinfectants work best. In 2010 two moms saw a need, and decided to do something about it.

SMaRT Education is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing STEAM education programs to our youth.

Our mission is to inspire in our children an early passion for science, technology, engineering, arts, and math through hands on experimentation.

Our goal is to help students have access to engaging STEAM education programs no matter where they live, what school they go to, or what their family’s financial resources allow by reducing or removing the biggest barriers to program participation, cost and lack of accessibility.

SMaRT's STEAM Explorers program kicks off 2023 with a science fair themed session, Destination Science!

Destination Science! starts January 26th and runs for five weeks through February 23rd at our science and technology center, SciTech Academy, in Palm Springs!

SMaRT STEAM Explorers is a science and engineering program focused on homeschool students ages 9 to 11 years old. Curriculum will focus hands-on individual and group projects on 5th grade California standards. Program runs Thursdays in 4 to 6 week sessions.

STEAM education for elementary aged kids can help encourage independent thinking, and SMaRT Education's approach to learning allows learners to go at their own pace and skill level. Students are given as much time as they need with beginning concepts and are encouraged to challenge themselves by working with complex concepts when they are ready.
