This Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the histories, cultures, resilience, and lasting contributions of Indigenous peoples and communities across the nation. 💙

As part of the nonprofit community, we recognize that building a stronger, more equitable, sustainable future begins with acknowledging the voices, leadership, and lived experiences of the original stewards of the land.

There are many ways to honor the day's significance: research about the local, traditional lands and Native nations, support or amplify Indigenous-owned businesses and organizations, and learn and understand regional Indigenous cultures.

The Sensei stopped by the office, and she brought the party with her. 🥋💐

Tamara Canedo, founder and CEO of Seiden-Juku and the winner of NPO Desert Fast Pitch Grand Finale 2026, visited the RAP Foundation team with lunch and flowers to celebrate her journey!

Last Thursday, Tamara took the stage on October 1 and shared how Seiden-Juku builds leaders in inclusion through Karate-Do, welcoming children, teens and adults of every ability. Watching her pitch, and now watching her celebrate with us, is exactly why we do this work.

From the moment you took the stage, it was clear: this is nonprofit leadership at its best. Your passion. Your clarity. Your commitment to inclusivity moved everyone in the room.

“Last night, the children the world has overlooked won. Through the discipline, courage, and spirit of karate-do and para-karate, foster children, survivors of abuse, and individuals with disabilities went from unseen to celebrated, from underestimated to believed in. That first-place trophy belongs to every child who has ever been made to feel like they weren’t enough,” expresses NPO Desert Fast Pitch 2026 Winner, Tamara Canedo.

What an INCREDIBLE night! Our community members gathered at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa to witness nonprofit excellence at its absolute finest.

After an intensive journey of storytelling, leadership, and pitch training, these finalists stepped onto the stage ready to make their three minutes count, and they did just that!
