We were proud to host the 120 student-athletes down the road at TGL for the PGA WORKS Beyond The Green presented by CastleOak Securities and KOHLER. This career exploration event opens doors to new possibilities and shows us that golf is more than just a game and 18 holes — it’s a connecting point for all of us.

Sometimes golf can find us in unexpected ways and take us along a journey we never even thought was possible. From student-athlete, to pre-dental student, to now working in golf. The game has certainly created new opportunities for PGA WORKS Fellow Shandiin Harper.

As a four-time player in the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship, she has seen first-hand what the game and industry can offer. Now as we gear up for the championship’s 39th edition next week at The Park in West Palm Beach, FL, Shandiin will get the chance to help bring the championship to life — creating the same experience for students whose shoes she once filled. From exposure through a part-time job in high school at a local municipal golf course to something much bigger. Emme Speas says the PGA WORKS Fellowship with the Carolinas PGA Section set her on a path that connected everything she could ever dream about pursuing in the industry.

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we recognize the power of the game — and how its industry can transform the way we see our own history and the legacy we’re leaving behind. For Emme, it goes without saying, she’s just getting started.
