They flew in from bases around the world. They spent four days tackling the real challenges facing military families. Then they stood in front of senior Department of War leaders and presented their solutions.

These aren't just teens. They're the next generation of the military community and they showed up.

Robert had the honor of closing out their week at the Joint Service Teen Council Summit in Arlington. 25 teens. 350,000 military dependents represented. One room full of people who get it.

To the JSTC class of 2026: we see you. Keep going.

Thomas paused somewhere in the Scottish Highlands and gave a thumbs up.

What the camera didn't capture was the moment a few miles earlier when he wasn't sure he could keep going.

A Marine Corps veteran who answered the call after 9/11, Thomas hit a wall during the Yomp. He called his family. His son told him to say a prayer, pick up his bag, and keep moving.

So he did.

"It meant that I can still do tough things. It meant that I can find that extra gear to keep going."

54 miles. Every step felt earned.

And somewhere in the middle of the Scottish Highlands, Thomas remembered something he thought he'd lost.

Purpose doesn't retire. Neither does he.

Military service comes with sacrifices that many people never see. Behind every uniform is a human being navigating challenges, uncertainty, pressure, and moments of doubt.

That is why Chef Robert Irvine and the Robert Irvine Foundation remain committed to supporting the whole individual through connection, nourishment, wellness, and community. When we take care of people, we help create the opportunity for them to heal, grow, lead, and continue performing at their highest potential.

Stories like this remind us why that mission matters:

“Thank you, Robert Irvine, for continuing to support the troops all over the world. I was deployed in ‘17 when I first met you. I was in a rough place in life. I was ready to quit on a 17 year career. Your team absolutely changed many lives that day just by showing us that you cared enough to be there and break bread with us. I will always pay it forward the best way I can.”
- Loida Konstanzer, USAF (Ret)

"Sometimes sisterhood isn't about who you've known the longest. It's about who shows up beside you when the trail gets hard and refuses to let you quit."

This Women's Veterans Day, we celebrate the women who have served our nation and the bonds they continue to build long after their military service ends.

At this year's Cateran Yomp, women veterans from across the United States came together to challenge themselves, support one another, and prove that no one has to walk the journey alone.

Thank you to all the women veterans who continue to lead, inspire, and lift others up every day.

"It’s a lot of pain, but a lot of fun at the same time."

More than 100 participants. 54 miles. 24 hours.

This year's Cateran Yomp brought veterans together for an unforgettable challenge through the Scottish Highlands.

Every step tested endurance. Every mile strengthened connection.

Thank you to everyone who trekked, volunteered, supported, and helped make this incredible weekend possible.

Behind every uniform is a human being who needs nourishment, connection, and support.

America depends on the strength of its service members, veterans, and military families not only in moments of crisis, but every single day. They carry the mission. They absorb the cost. They continue showing up even when the weight is heavy.

At the Robert Irvine Foundation, we believe caring for our military community means caring for the whole individual through food that nourishes, movement that rebuilds strength, and community that restores connection.

Across the country, we see the impact of simple moments like these: a lunch break at one of our Let’s Chow Food Trucks, a meal prepared by a veteran chef, and the opportunity to connect with fellow service members who understand the journey.

Because sometimes support starts with something as simple as a meal and someone willing to listen.

Veterans are not statistics – they are parents, siblings, children, friends, teammates, caregivers, and community leaders, but the reality is that 7% of veterans will experience PTSD at some point in their lives. Everyone experiences PTSD differently. Sometimes, PTSD symptoms can start months or even years after the event. Or symptoms can come and go over a period of several years.

June marks PTSD Awareness Month, a time to help let others know that effective treatments do exist.

If you or a friend or loved one is dealing with any of the following, please know that help is available:

- Experiencing unwanted memories or nightmares
- Avoiding things that remind you of the event
- Having negative thoughts and feelings
- Feeling on edge

100 veterans are traveling with Chef Robert Irvine and a group of RIF team members and board members to Scotland as we speak to take on the Cateran YOMP!

05/30/2026

In just one week, more than 100 veterans will travel to Scotland together to take on the Cateran YOMP alongside military allies from around the world with the Army Benevolent Fund.

For months, this group has trained, prepared, and connected from afar, sharing stories, goals, challenges, and encouragement before all meeting in person. Next week, they will board an American Airlines flight together for the first time.

Veterans from every branch of the U.S. military will take on 54 miles through the Scottish Highlands, pushing through difficult terrain alongside people who understand the physical and mental challenges that can follow military service.

For many, this experience becomes more than an endurance event. It becomes connection, accountability, camaraderie, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Because sometimes healing begins by walking beside people who understand your journey.
