Among The Least

Among The Least Serving the least among us through Chris-like biblical care by offering programs for marginalized widows, orphans and immigrants.

Sadly in our world today many people are abandoned, abused, neglected and treated as life-long victims of tragedy, specifically women and children. As a result, Among the Least, an interdenominational not-for-profit organization was created to walk in solidarity with those who are oppressed by facilitating projects that promote dignity, value and destiny. Our process reflect Biblical principles, forming relationships that honors Jesus Christ and treat others as His image-bearers.

Written by Rev. Benjamin Cremer.

“I keep seeing many Christians post this phrase: “Heaven has gates, hell has open borders. Choose wisely.”

Here’s what Revelation 21:25 says about heaven’s gates: “On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there.”

Here’s what Jesus says about hell in Matthew 16:17-19: “the gates of hell will not prevail against you.”

When we reduce Heaven and Hell to border control metaphors, we not only misrepresent the Bible, we risk missing the heart of the gospel.

The Bible doesn’t depict heaven as locked tight against outsiders, nor hell as a place without gates or borders. It depicts a God who opens gates to freedom, breaks gates of oppression, and invites all people into life. That’s a very different story than the one the slogan tells.

When we spread slogans like this as Christians, which has more to do with a political position than a theological one, it ultimately makes us look like we actually don’t take the Bible (or our theology) as seriously as we claim to.

It should also be noted that one of the standards of judgment Jesus uses in discerning between the righteous and the unrighteous before welcoming them into heaven with him in Matthew 25:35 is this:”

“I was a stranger and you took me in.” -Jesus

Thank you Rev. Benjamin Cremer.

Do children need to be taught about civil rights’ leaders, how they affected history and what we can do to continue treating all people with equal dignity and access to opportunities?
