Summer Camp is officially in full swing! ☀️🌲

Thanks to funding through our 21st Century Grant, the first two weeks of camp are completely free for participating families. We had a fantastic first week and are excited for another week packed with outdoor adventures!

So far, we’ve been soaking up the sunshine at the river and the park, battling it out in tug-of-war challenges, and making plenty of splashes along the way. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store!

Glass, creativity, and community came together for a fantastic afternoon at PCI!

Our middle school participants recently had the opportunity to learn the art of glass fusion in a class taught by Mary Kurt-Mason.

Everyone created their own beautiful fused glass plates to take home, and the results were incredible. More importantly, it was a chance to learn something new, express creativity, and spend time together in a fun and supportive environment.

A huge thank you to Mary for sharing her talent and helping make this class such a memorable experience.

Interested in joining a future class? Keep an eye on our website and social media pages for upcoming opportunities to learn, create, and connect with the community!

Happy Graduation and congratulations to the Pagosa Springs High School Class of 2026!

At PCI, we have the privilege of working with high school students in many different ways. Over the years, we’ve offered clubs and opportunities for students. However, our favorite way to engage with local teens is by hiring them to help support younger kids in our after-school and summer programs.

This year, we want to give a special shoutout to senior Leah Blackman. Leah has been part of the PCI family since her freshman year, working alongside our staff throughout the school year and summer programs. She has been an incredible role model for the younger students we serve, bringing dedication, kindness, and leadership to everything she does.

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Leah was also named Valedictorian for the Class of 2026!

We are so proud of all that Leah has accomplished and can’t wait to see what her future holds. Thank you for being such an important part of the PCI family.

Congratulations to every student who walked across that stage this year. Your hard work, perseverance, and accomplishments deserve to be celebrated. We can’t wait to see what comes next for all of you!

And just like that, the 2025–2026 school year is a wrap!

What an incredible year it has been. Our After School Program was filled with creativity, laughter, growth, and so many unforgettable moments. We’ve watched students build friendships, discover new passions, and gain confidence as they created, advocated, and explored together.

One of our favorite things about this program is that it continues to grow because of the students themselves. Many of our clubs started as ideas from the kids, and every year we add new opportunities that help make this program even more special.

While we’re sad to say goodbye to another school year, we aren’t slowing down for long. We can’t wait to get outside, get adventurous, and get a little wild with our GET Wild Child Summer Program!

Thank you to all of the students, families, staff, and donors who made this year such a success. See you this summer!

Warm summer nights, live music, and supporting local nonprofits? Count us in.

We are so excited to be part of the 19th Hole Concert Series at Pagosa Springs Golf Club on Thursday, June 18 from 5:30–7:30 PM featuring Outlaw Firm!

One of the best parts of this series is that every $10 ticket supports local nonprofits right here in our community. And even if you can’t make it out for PCI’s night specifically, all funds raised throughout the month are pooled together and shared among all the participating nonprofits. So no matter which concert you attend, you’re still helping support Pagosa Community Initiative and so many other amazing organizations doing important work here in Pagosa Springs.

Grab your friends, bring your lawn chairs, enjoy some great music, and support local all month long.

Youth Programming Update from PCI!

As the school year winds down and summer gets closer, we are wrapping up another amazing season of after-school clubs and youth programming.

We are so proud of all the fun, learning, friendships, and memories our students have made this year! 💛

Looking ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, PCI Programming registration will open in August, with programs beginning Tuesday, September 8 after Labor Day. Previous PCI families will receive an email, and we’ll also share updates in our newsletter and across social media. Keep an eye out in July for more information!

Thank you all for continuing to support local youth and helping us build community through programming that makes a difference.

These royalty nominees really deserve a post all of their own.

Every single couple went above and beyond this year for PCI’s 2nd Chance Prom. From garage sales, brunches, and co****le tournaments to community events and creative fundraisers, these couples were out all over Pagosa spreading the word and raising money to support PCI.

Since we started this tradition, our royalty nominees have always done an incredible job, but this year’s group truly brought the creativity, energy, and community spirit. We are so thankful for the time, effort, and heart each couple poured into this fundraiser.

Totals raised this year:
The Blue’s — $6,259

The Luhr’s— $6,897

The Domingo’s— $10,362

The Burkett’s— $11,466

The Wood’s— $15,120 and this year’s crowned Prom Queen and King! 👑

All together, these amazing couples raised an incredible $50,104 for PCI’s summer camps, after school programs, and youth initiatives.

Thank you all for showing up for PCI and for this community in such a big way. We are beyond grateful.
