The Granville County Chamber of Commerce is proud to share another exciting look into our Leadership Granville class's journey! Our students stepped inside the historic walls of the Granville County Courthouse for an immersive, behind-the-scenes look at our local judicial system.

Understanding how justice is administered and how local government functions is a core pillar of leadership, and our class received an incredible, firsthand education.

πŸ“ Highlights of the Day:

πŸ—ΊοΈ An Exclusive Tour: We were honored to be guided through the historic courthouse by Yancey Washington, Clerk of Superior Court in Granville County and Harrison Preddy, Hicks, Preddy, Washburn & Brummitt, PC! Yancey & Harrison shared a wealth of knowledge regarding the courthouse's history, the vital record-keeping operations, and the daily management of our county's legal system.

πŸ—£οΈ Insights from Legal Experts: The class had the unique privilege of speaking directly with dedicated local defense attorneys and District Attorneys. They shared valuable perspectives on the complexities of the legal process, case preparation, and the balance of advocacy in the courtroom.

πŸ‘¨β€βš–οΈ Wisdom from the Bench: Our leaders concluded their experience with an invaluable Q&A session with our local judges. The judges discussed the heavy responsibilities of the bench, the inner workings of courtroom proceedings, and what it takes to ensure fairness and integrity for every citizen in Granville County.
