Rocky's Bridge, Inc.

Rocky's Bridge, Inc. We are a 501(c)(3) non profit organization. Formed to raise funds for Spay/Neuter, TNR, Medical. I have been a volunteer in the shelter for almost 8 years.

I am currently the Volunteer Rescue Coordinator for Granville County Animal Shelter. The rest of the board is also involved or have been involved in the animal welfare community in one way or another for years. Animal Welfare is in Crisis. Between conversations with rescues, the shelters, and the community we see a huge need that isn't getting filled. We know that spay/neuter is key. We have to st

op production, there will never be enough good homes to house all the animals currently, much less the ones continuing to reproduce. It's never ending. We hope to obtain donations and grants for this. The Granville County Animal Shelter has an amazing TNR program currently in place, but they frequently run out of funding as the needs are great. We want to help with this as well. Funds are always needed. In the shelter, when a medical needs animal comes in, the shelter's job is to stabilize the animal. They go to the vet when warranted, but it's only to stabilize the animal. When rescues can't take the animal in immediately, we can make a difference and get that animal the immediate care it may need to save it's life until rescue can take it. Another issue, pet retention. Pet owners are surrendering their animals at a growing rate. Various reasons, but some are simple to fix. We see some owners so upset, but want to do what's best for their beloved furry friends...but they have no funds. They live on a fixed income and just don't have the money to do what is needed for them. We want them to keep their pets. The senior community needs help in order to do this. We want to be that help they need. We want to focus on the senior community. To make sure they have a plan in place for the care of their animals in case anything happens, before they end up in the shelter. We can't make an impact without your help! We are a fun group and it's always an adventure we try to make fun. We will be doing some fun fundraisers in the future and will need all the help we can get. In the meantime, we will be doing vendor events on the weekend to sell dog clothes and other animal related items for the furry bunch.

This is how we spent your money!

The shelter ended up with a very senior 16 year old poodle as an owner surrender. She was so matted she had become a little snippy from the pain the mats caused to her skin. Rocky’s was able to pay for a groom for her. Sadly it revealed Kimi had a couple of masses and some old lady lumps and bumps. Kimi is also totally blind. At least now she is feeling much better.

This is how we spent your money today!

A dog named Beast was in the shelter as an owner surrender. This boy had a few issues, but today he yelped when he was picked up. Off to the vet and he went, and while he was there Rocky’s Bridge, Inc. was able to get him neutered for the rescue taking him so he would already be ready to go. Thank you so much to the rescue that took him. We know he will be a project for sure!

As always, we can’t do this without you and your support!

This how we spent your money today!

While at Granville County Animal Shelter taking pics of the dogs, I met an amazing dog named Sabrina. I was posting her pictures, and noticed she was sitting a little wonky. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but I knew something was off with her hind end.

Rocky’s Bridge, Inc. Was able to send her to the vet, get her an exam and an x-ray.

I need to double check with the Shelter, but I believe I was told she will just need some supplements, whatever this is, it has been going on for some time… possibly an old injury. Not in any pain does not bother her at all apparently.
If you met this girl, you would know why I feel completely in love with her

She is spayed and micro chipped.

Rocky’s was able to pay this invoice today for Sabrina and Shelter.

As always, we appreciate your help, we can’t do this without you!

This is how we spent your money today!

Rocky’s got a call this week about a cat that needed some help! We said yes!
This cat was apparently attacked by another cat, he was not neutered. It was originally thought that this cat was a TNR cat, as it looked as though he had an ear tip. It was just another wound and he definitely needed to be neutered.
Thanks to mitchell mill Animal Hospital, we were able to get some long acting antibiotics for him for the wounds, vaccines, and a neuter.
He will be all better in no time.

As always, we can’t do this without your help!
Thank you.
