Behind the scenes, we've been hard at work preparing for another grant cycle through Literary Illuminators, and we can't wait to see the incredible ideas our local educators have in store!

Literary Illuminators is a nonprofit organization (Tax ID: 99-3686035) dedicated to promoting the importance, development, and continuation of literacy programs in our schools. Our mission is to increase student exposure to literacy through novel studies, author visits, literacy events, classroom libraries, and other innovative reading initiatives.

This fall, we're thrilled to award FIVE $500 grants to deserving teachers and schools! 🍎📖

Teachers and administrators are invited to apply during each grant cycle (Fall and Spring) for funding to support literacy-focused programs and events. After the application deadline, our grant committee carefully reviews and scores each application using a rubric before selecting recipients.

Every child deserves the opportunity to fall in love with reading, and we're honored to help make that happen—one classroom at a time.

Today we had our 2nd annual Race to Read 5K run/walk/100 yd dash. We had a good showing and a great time. All proceeds go to grants for teachers here in Granville County for literacy programs, literacy projects and novel studies! Check back later this week for some final numbers.

With the race a little less than a month from now we wanted to publish the route so those avid runners could go ahead and start practicing. Happy Training!

We are delighted to announce the recipients of our first-ever grants. Three grants were awarded today, with the fourth grant to be awarded next week. Our exceptional community and sponsors have enabled us to raise the necessary funds to provide four $500 grants to support literacy programs and projects led by teachers. We anticipate expanding our grant program next year. Congratulations to our grant awardees. We hope you will join us at our 5K fundraiser in the fall.

Hey everyone, I'm so sorry I haven't posted anything. It's been crazy with the store opening and all. As a whole our board has decided to extend the grant application deadline. We are going to extend it until February 15th. Please submit all grant applications by the 15th. Any submitted later than the 15th will not be accepted. Remember for this grant only current teachers in schools from Granville County can apply. Thank you and may the odds be ever in your favor. 😉

Welcome! I wanted to introduce you to my love project lately. Literary Illuminators is a nonprofit organization, 501 (c)(3), (Tax ID: 99-3686035) that promotes the importance, development, and continuation of literary programs. This is achieved through grants awarded to local school districts with the mission of increasing student exposure to literacy through novel studies, author events, and other activities.

Our mission is to create excitement within students by promoting the importance of literacy programs through grants awarded to local school districts.

We will be having our first 2 fundraisers within the next 2 months. The first one will be a canvas tote bag sale that is just like the VIP tote from our Retro Book Fair for Grown Ups a few weeks ago. We will be selling these for $16.00 with all proceeds going to help with our Race to Read 5K fundraiser we will be having on Saturday September 28th, 9am - 2pm, Downtown Oxford. I will be putting the link for the Facebook event below and the event will include the registration link as well. We are also still looking for sponsors as well as silent auction items. If you know anyone who would be interested in donating please let me know. Thank you for your help in getting these much needed literacy programs and events into the hands of our students.
