Anne was a generous and thoughtful UMaine alumna and friend. In addition to her philanthropy already mentioned, she was instrumental in fundraising for an endowment to support the Buchanan Alumni House and served as a fundraising leader on many committees.

It is with great sorrow that we share the recent passing of Anne Collins, who, together with her late husband Richard Collins, is the namesake of our building.

Anne and Richard's generosity made it possible for the Collins Center to create countless memories over the years, and their legacy will continue to shape this space for generations to come.

Anne was a truly special person and will be deeply missed. In the coming season, we hope to honor the Collins family's memory and share more stories of the generosity, warmth, and lasting impact they brought to our community.

University of Maine Foundation Board Chair Chris Keating ’79 announced that Sean Campbell ’94 has been appointed the new president and CEO of the Foundation, starting in the role on October 19.

Today marks the 92nd anniversary of the University of Maine Foundation. With their initial $1,000 gift and foresight in 1934, our founders have made a tremendous difference for thousands of Black Bears. That investment, along with all the other gifts to our endowment over the years, has brought our total endowment to a record high of over $500 million! Thank you for the role you have played in this success.

The University of Maine Foundation recently celebrated philanthropy, leadership, and community impact during the 2026 Stillwater Society Dinner and Awards event.

The Stillwater Society recognizes individuals whose lifetime giving to the University of Maine has reached $25,000 or more. This year’s event honored donors whose generosity continues to support scholarships, research, academic programs, and opportunities for students across the UMaine community.

Yesterday, UMaine Seniors who contributed to the Senior Class Giving Campaign came together for a celebration of their philanthropy at the annual True Blue Toast. Foundation President/CEO Jeff Mills '82 and Alumni Association President/CEO Tom Peaco '88 introduced them to Buchanan Alumni House, and expressed the university's appreciation for their gifts as budding philanthropists.
