Operation Breaking Stereotypes

Operation Breaking Stereotypes OBS locates two schools who are interested in a long-term relationship that prepares students to live in a larger world.

Operation Breaking Stereotypes (OBS) is non-profit organization, working with schools in Maine and New York City facilitating exchanges among diverse groups of learners helping them address ethnic, socioeconomic, gender, and racial stereotypes. OBS coordinates the partnership—from identifying coordinators at each school and assisting with participant selection, to crafting the itinerary for exchanges and educating the students, schools, and community members about the process

This has been a year filled with challenges, hope, creativity, and the amazing wisdom of our youth! It is with much thought and
consideration that OBS has decided to close our doors.
Closing doors is probably not the image we want to offer,
for we know that because of the over 4500 students who
have been part of OBS during the past 20 years, the doors
will continue to be very open.
