Maine 4-H Foundation The Maine 4-H Foundation helps support University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H Youth Development programs. You help them reach new and unexpected goals.

Since 1961 the Maine 4-H Foundation (formerly the Pine Tree State 4-H Foundation) has played an active role in supporting and strengthening the programs available to the youth and adults of Maine through 4-H and other youth development education. Foundation funds:

Help Maine 4-H’ers participate in national 4-H trips such as Citizenship Washington Focus, National 4-H Conference, and Congress;

Aid UMaine Extension staff as they attempt to expand and strengthen the Maine 4-H program in science, agriculture, leadership, service learning, STEM, and the arts. Provide grants and scholarships to clubs and individual Maine 4-H members as they better themselves and their communities through “hands on experiential learning.”

The work of the Foundation would not be possible without its many volunteers, sponsors, and donors. You help give 4-H members the gift of quality education and higher aspirations. Thank you for your support. The Maine 4-H Foundations supports our five 4-H Learning Centers across Maine. They include the UMaine 4-H Camp and Learning Centers at Blueberry Cove, Bryant Pond, Greenland Point, and Tanglewood and the Lafayette and Rawcliffe 4-H Science and Engineering Learning Center on the Orono campus of the University of Maine.

Proud of our 4-H Youth. I may have lost all the photos from the Cumberland County Fair, but I definitely didn’t lose the memories. The Maine 4-H Foundation was so proud to support the 4-H Livestock members and the G & G 4-H Food Pantry Project at the 4-H livestock auction at the Cumberland County Fair. And these kids? BEYOND READY. They came prepared, confident, and proud of the animals they worked so hard to raise. Watching them in that auction ring was a reminder of why 4-H is so special. It’s about hard work, responsibility, giving back, and building young people who are ready to make a difference. No pictures this time, just a really proud heart.

It’s fair time! For 4-H youth, fair season is about so much more than showing animals or entering projects. It’s about showing up, working hard, learning new skills, overcoming challenges, and being part of something bigger than themselves. From early mornings to long days, these young people are putting their skills into action and going Beyond Ready.

BEYOND READY starts with someone who believes in you. When Pat Stack's children were young, she and her husband Steve, found their way to 4-H, drawn by her husband's dairy farming roots and her desire to give back to young people. Years later, Pat continues to volunteer because she loves watching kids gain confidence, blossom, and step into leadership. Along the way, 4-H has become her second family. Every time Pat encourages a young person to try, lead, and believe in themselves, she's helping them become Beyond Ready. -H

Congratulations to this year's Maine 4-H Foundation scholarship recipients! We are honored to celebrate the Foundation's award of $20,000 in scholarships to outstanding Maine 4-H high school seniors and college students. These young people have developed the Beyond Ready skills that prepare them to lead with confidence, serve their communities, and make a difference wherever life takes them. These scholarships represent more than financial support; they are an investment in the future of Maine and in the next generation of leaders. This milestone is only possible because of the generosity of our donors. Thank you for believing in Maine youth and for opening doors that will create opportunities for years to come. Congratulations to each of our scholarship recipients. We can't wait to see all you'll accomplish.
