🍗Details for FSA’s Holiday Project 2026!🎄
🎁Receiving: FSA is currently taking applications for our Thanksgiving Food Project.
Families can pick up and complete an application at FSA (277 Chestnut Street) during the hours we’re open, Monday through Thursday 9am-4pm, and Friday by appointment. Or apply over the phone by calling 607-432-2870.
The deadline to apply is November 2nd. If approved, you will be notified between November 16th and 24th.
The number of households selected for the Thanksgiving Food Project is determined by need in relation to available funding.

💸Giving: By donating to FSA during the holiday season, you’re able to provide food to local families for Thanksgiving, as well as Christmas gifts for children for our annual adopt-a-family program.
Donations can be made online via PayPal or Venmo (-Oneonta), or you can mail a check to 277 Chestnut Street, Oneonta. Please put “holiday project” in the memo to have you gift go towards the Thanksgiving and Christmas projects.

Here's how YOU can help support FSA's hygiene services for !
🛁$10 provides one day's worth of showers at FSA. Our shower service is available to anyone and, on average, we provide 4 hot showers per day. This service provides individuals with soap, shampoo, shaving razors, along with clean towels and washcloths.
🕷️$25 provides one lice-treatment kit. FSA routinely receives calls from parents and school staff asking for lice-treatment kits. We're happy to provide families with free kits so lice won't spread and children can return to school.
🧼$40 provides a family one hygiene bag for back-to-school. Each year, FSA provides more than 100 households hygiene bags during our back-to-school event. Hygiene products include: laundry detergent, dish soap, bar soap, shampoo, and deodorant.
🚰$100 covers the average monthly cost of FSA's water bill. Providing the public with 60+ hot showers each month requires a lot of water. Any financial assistance we receive goes a long way in keeping all of FSA's essential services going.

FRIDAY is Mohawk Valley Gives day! You can also donate throughout the week if you prefer to give early.
As a private, non-profit human service agency, FSA RELIES on individual donations to do ALL that we do--like providing students, pre-K through 5th grade, with new sneakers, socks, and underwear every year for Back-to-School. For the current school year, FSA has so far provided 39 kids from 25 families with the new clothing items needed for school.
Without generous gifts from neighbors like yourself, FSA would be unable to fulfill our mission of helping our neighbors.

Thank you Sidney Federal Credit Union for supporting FSA’s Back to School Event with a generous $2,500 donation! The donation is made on behalf of the Oneonta Market Street branch as part of SFU’s 1 Million Reasons Community Support Initiative.

Thanks to community partners like SFU, this week we’ve been able to provide free school supplies to every family that’s come to FSA, and we anticipate having enough supplies for the rest of Thursday and Friday (8/27 & 8/28), the final two days of the week-long event.
