The Genetic Support Foundation is a charitable nonprofit that provides up-to-date and objective information about genetics and health.

Our Mission

To improve the quality of healthcare by providing up-to-date, objective genetic information to patients, providers, insurance agencies and other companies, supporting those in need of genetic services and facilitating the adoption of best genetic practices. Our Motivation

We have a passion for genetics and believe that there is a need for objective information about genetic testing a

nd how it can impact your health. Genetic testing technology is changing rapidly and there are a growing number of genetic testing options available. Some may be of great benefit for your health or for a loved one. Other tests may be of little value and in some cases could even present risk or harm. We are here to help you sort through the growing information in this new age of genetics. We can help you cut through the marketing messages of the companies that aim to sell you tests. Unlike a lot of information on the internet regarding genetic testing, we have no connection to genetic testing companies and therefore no incentive to convince you to take tests that may not be in your best interest. Our goal is to provide objective expertise and up-to-date information to help you determine what is right for you. Our Information

Our GSF staff, board and contributors are comprised of professionals in the field of genetics and related areas that have been working with patients for decades. This experience allows us to write content based on these experiences. Also, it provides us the ability to anticipate what questions you have and what resources you may need. Our information is derived from original research articles, reputable web resources, and first-hand experience. Our job is to be up-to-date so you can be as well. The content of this website is for informational purposes only and is intended to educate consumers about health care issues and choices. Thank you for making the 2026 DNA Dash a success! 🧬🎉

Together, we raised $3,350 through donations and ticket sales, with participants joining from 13 different states to support our mission.

Every dollar raised will help us expand access to genetic counseling, provide trusted educational resources, and support patients and families navigating genetic conditions.

DNA Dash is BACK!

Join us on Saturday, June 13th for our second annual DNA Dash virtual 5K fundraising event! This event is your chance to walk, run, roll, or accomplish a goal to help raise funds for Genetic Support Foundation.

💬 How does it work?
This event is virtual, so complete your 5K anytime, anywhere on June 13th. You can also choose a different activity or goal to complete, like a crafting, coloring, or reading race! If you'd like to complete the event with a group, teams can register together at a discount.

💬 What will I get?
Once you register, you will receive a package in the mail with a DNA Dash wristband and sticker. If you raise $50, you will also receive a GSF tote bag with extra goodies!

💬 What will my ticket fund?
All money raised from this event will directly fund GSF's important work, from direct patient care to disability advocacy.
