Day 1 of our BGCTC College Tour!

What an incredible first day! Our teens had the opportunity to explore UCLA and Caltech, two prestigious institutions offering very different college experiences and paths for their futures.

Despite temperatures reaching into the 90s, our teens spent the entire day walking, exploring, and learning about what their futures could look like. Experiences like today are about more than visiting a college campus. They are about helping young people see new possibilities, imagine themselves pursuing higher education, and recognize that these opportunities can be within their reach.

We also want to give a special thank you to Daniel Gamboa and Stephanie Bernal from Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena for welcoming us and giving our group an impromptu tour! We always love the opportunity to visit other Clubs, see the great work happening in their communities, and connect with others who are equally invested in the Boys & Girls Club Movement.

A huge thank you to Team Nelms/Brandy Nelms- Movement Mortgage #119596, the Movement Foundation, and , loan officer for helping make this experience possible. Your generosity is giving our teens the opportunity to step onto campuses like these, broaden their horizons, and see themselves in a future filled with education, opportunity, and Great Futures.

Day 1 is in the books, and we’re just getting started. Tomorrow, we’re off to Disneyland!

🎉 We’re celebrating two incredible employee milestones! 🎉

First, a big congratulations to Ryan on an amazing 20 years with our organization! Two decades is quite an accomplishment, and we’re so thankful for the experience, commitment, and countless contributions you’ve made along the way. Thank you for being such an important part of our team and for all the ways you’ve helped shape our organization over the years!

We’re also giving a big shoutout to Emily, who is celebrating 10 years with us! Over the past decade, you’ve brought your own special energy, talents, and personality to our team, and we’re so happy you’re here. Thank you for everything you do to help make our Clubs brighter each day!

Check out the fun we had at the Dunk Tank Challenge and Community Field Day this Saturday! Thank you, Danielle Rants, Ryan Piles, Mitch Dietz, Morgan Gosney, Frankie Longoria, John Hayes, Wayne Fournier, Ty Johnson, Mayor Dontae Payne, and Jonathan McMillan, for raising money to create opportunities for local youth. Our Free Community Field Day at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County Lacey Branch is happening tomorrow, Saturday, August 15!

Bring the whole family and enjoy games, bounce houses, face painting, a dunk tank, hot dogs, and more! Come spend the day with us, have some fun, and celebrate our community.

Congratulations to our 2026 Dunk Tank Challenge Top Fundraisers!

Danielle Rants, Ryan Piles, and Mitch Dietz have officially claimed the Top 3 spots and earned the right to stay dry after an exciting fundraising campaign that came down to the very end. The leaderboard remained incredibly close throughout the final days, making for a fun and competitive finish.

A huge congratulations also goes out to our outstanding runners up: Morgan Gosney, Frankie Longoria, John Hayes, Wayne Fournier, Ty Johnson, Mayor Dontae Payne, and Jonathan McMillan. Thank you for stepping up to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of Thurston County and helping make this year's Dunk Tank Challenge such a success.

We are incredibly grateful to every participant who fundraised, every donor who contributed, and everyone who cheered on this campaign. Every dollar raised goes directly toward programs serving nearly 1,900 young people throughout Thurston County.

Want to see the rest of our contestants take the plunge? Join us tomorrow at Community Field Day at the Kaila Celeste Rants Jorgenson Lacey Boys and Girls Club, located at 1105 Tracey Lane SE in Lacey.

The event runs from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with the Dunk Tank Challenge beginning at 12:00 PM. Bring the whole family and enjoy food, face painting, inflatable bounce houses, and an afternoon of fun while cheering on this year's Dunk Tank participants.

There’s still time to support your favorite Dunk Tank Challenger, but the clock is ticking. Donations close at 12:00 PM this Friday, August 14.
