Team Salmon? 🐟 Team Seal?🦭 BOTH!? Get ready for the 2027 Salmon and Seal Regatta and the gotta-be-there after party!

Come and watch the racing from 8am-12pm, and then join us for the post-regatta Salmon Bake immediately following the races.

In addition to being a fun day on the water, the proceeds will go towards the club’s designated strategic needs (youth support, fleet updates, facilities, etc.). We are also excited to welcome Vashon Island Rowing Club and Vancouver Lake Rowing Club to join us.

Salmon Bake Tickets are available for sale until September 14 ($18 adults, $12 for kids 12 and under). After that, the price goes up to $22 and $14

OAR entered 32 boats in the Green Lake Summer Extravaganza Regatta today! Junior and Masters rowers cheered each other on. The weather has been…well… a little unpredictable! Great job to everyone who signed up to row, family and friends who took time to show up and cheer us on (and feed us!), and to the Green Lake Crew and the Rowing Advisory Council for hosting this fantastic summer regatta!

🦭 It’s seal season again! 🦭

As a reminder, we share our waterfront with local wildlife, and we are required to give seals the space they need to rest safely on the docks.

If you arrive at the boathouse and there are seals on both the north and south docks, unfortunately you will not be able to launch boats, and rowing will need to be postponed until the docks are clear.

When seals are present, please help us minimize disturbance by following these guidelines:

🦭 Launch boats from the dock opposite of where the seals are resting whenever possible.

🦭Keep noise to a minimum around the docks and boathouse.

🦭Limit extra trips back and forth between the boathouse and the docks by bringing everything you need before launching.

🦭Whenever possible, launch one boat at a time. This helps minimize disturbance and gives the seals as much space as possible.

Thank you for helping us protect the wildlife that shares our waterfront while allowing us to continue rowing responsibly. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and understanding during seal season.
