Heather Fairlee Denbrough of Playful Integration is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, and Certified Synergetic Play Therapy Supervisor. Heather spent a long and wonderful portion of her career bringing the power of play therapy and sand therapy to community mental health as a therapist, teacher, and clinical supervisor. Heather’s therapeutic home is located at Portland Q***r Healers’ Collective in Portland, Oregon, where she offers a tender space for adults ready to explore the deeper stories that shaped their lives. Through play, sand therapy, and deeply witnessed relational work, Heather supports clients in understanding their stories and transforming the patterns they don’t want to carry forward. Heather additionally works with neurodivergent teens and adults seeking an intuitive therapeutic space where creativity, special interests, and authenticity are welcomed. Heather also supports therapists seeking consultation in play therapy and sand therapy as they integrate these approaches into their clinical practice, and has a special interest in “self of the play therapist” work.

Several WA4PT members are part of the Play, Heal, Grow: Disaster Relief Project. Please consider donating if you can. The eastside of our beautiful state is hurting badly by these horrible fires. Thank you!

Play, Heal, Grow: Disaster Relief Project is organizing a disaster relief project for the Spokane area. This will be our 7th project since 2023 and we need the help our community to help bring sensory, play, art and comfort kits to the youth and families of Spokane.

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating Spokane wildfire and all wildfires happening throughout the US. In Spokane alone more than 600 homes have been destroyed so far and 5,000+ people evacuated, countless children and families are facing uncertainty, grief, and trauma.
Our team of trauma-informed mental health professionals is assembling Play, Sensory, Art and Comfort Kits filled with supplies including and not limited to art, sensory tools, children’s books, comfort items, and caregiver resources. These kits are designed to help youth begin healing during one of the most difficult times of their lives.

Unlike organizations that provide food, clothing, and shelter, the Play, Heal, Grow: Disaster Relief Project focuses specifically on children’s emotional and mental health an essential need that is often overlooked during disaster response.

Here’s how you can help: Amazon Wish List & GoFundMe- link in bio ☝🏼

🤝 Share this post to help us reach more families, businesses, and community partners.

🏢 Businesses and organizations interested in sponsoring healing kits or hosting supply drives are invited to contact us.

The Youth Empowerment Network is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and eligible donations may be tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Together, we can help youth and families play, heal, and grow—one child, one family, one kit, and one community at a time. Together we help this world shine brighter.
