They haul the trailers, load the tack,
And drive the long roads there and back.
They brush and braid, adjust the gear,
And calm the nerves before the fear.

They know the rules, they help us learn,
They wait, they watch, they hope, they yearn.
They cheer out loud from ringside rails
Through every clear, through every fail.

They watch in silence, breath held tight,
As horses jump into their flight.
A smile breaks through, proud and true,
With every fence their rider clears through.
