They haul the trailers, load the tack,
And drive the long roads there and back.
They brush and braid, adjust the gear,
And calm the nerves before the fear.

They know the rules, they help us learn,
They wait, they watch, they hope, they yearn.
They cheer out loud from ringside rails
Through every clear, through every fail.

They watch in silence, breath held tight,
As horses jump into their flight.
A smile breaks through, proud and true,
With every fence their rider clears through.

To all the moms who stay by our side,
We appreciate you for every ride.
Today we thank you for all you do—
Happy Mother’s Day, from MAEA to you.

THANK YOU everyone for being so patient with all of the rescheduling and changes we have had to make these past two weeks with the April XC Schooling and Schooling Show. We were lucky enough to have a great day of showing on Sunday and some XC schooling afterwards before the park got another 2" of rain dumped on it Sunday night. 😅

I have attached the scores from Sunday's show. You will also see a column on the right for year end points. If you are a MAEA member, you will see how many you earned this past weekend.

We are hoping for a DRY week and our May XC Schooling is THIS weekend, May 2-3! Get that last minute practice in before the first USEA Area IV event at Queeny Park the following weekend!

Huge thanks to all of the great and wonderful volunteers who make all of the magic happen! We couldn't do it all without you!

A HUGE thank you to Jaime Byer and family, Lillian Davis, Bridget Mason, and Elisabeth Bethea for helping set up show jumping and dressage today!! The help was sooo greatly appreciated!!

If you have messaged or emailed, I am almost home from the day and will be getting back to you shortly. Revised ride times will be posted (they won’t change much) but take a peek at them to be sure you know what time you go!

Here’s the deal: yes, we know the grass is tall in and around dressage. Please do not forget that the ground was sloshing as of yesterday so it has been too wet to be mowed. The ground dried a bunch today but is still soft. Tall grass is much better to ride in than tire ruts from trying to mow when it is too wet. We know this is not ideal, but it is doable and we are just happy we are able to have the show for you all!! Thank you for understanding and for not hold g it against us!

If you have any questions and need a quick reply, please text Kristina (816-590-3425). Otherwise, we will see you in the morning!

Don’t forget that XC schooling will be from 1:30-4. You must check in with the show secretary in order to be out on the course after the show. You do not have to participate in the show to come cross country school!
