The club came about when a past student and past Student Activities Ambassador, Will Suarez , and Miguel Morales, with the help of advisor Danny Alexander, took the initiative to present the idea to the JCCC Student Senate. Expanding our focus LUNA seeks more development each year by giving students a voice and an opportunity to excel in all areas of life. LUNA’s Vision is we envision creating a community of successful students with a sense of responsibility towards our community and leave a heritage of helping others. Our vision is Latinos Now and Always (LUNA) is to support students in their academic and career lives by providing resources, guidance, and opportunities in the college and the community at large. Our objectives are to provide opportunities in the student's’ educational, career and community lives in order to create successful students and decrease dropout rate, to provide a voice for JCCC Latino students, and to advocate their concerns and needs, to implant a sense of responsibility towards the community, and to be a source of encouragement and support. We welcome all students that may need any help, want to help others and at the same time, learn about Latino Culture. We understand the hardships sometimes students, especially Latinos, and first generation students face and that’s why we are here. We want to provide those students with the opportunities that they would not get otherwise. We are going to have events throughout the semester making it fun and promoting the Latin culture.

🌙 LUNA is partnering with to participate in Cambio para Cambio. Every dollar donated from September 15 through October 15 is matched 100% by generous HDF donors. Please help us reach our goal by donating directly to our fundraiser website, purchasing a t-shirt or cup, and visiting to try our drink ‘Luna de Miel’ 🍯🌙

Congrats to our LUNA members who will be graduating today! Natalie got accepted into the JCCC Neurodiagnostic Technology program, Emily will be continuing her education at KU, Fernanda will be focusing on her art career, Kate will be continuing her education at UMKC. Again congrats to all the graduates and we can’t wait to see what lies ahead for you all! 💜
