Earlier this week, while in Washington, D.C. for its October board meeting, Inasmuch Foundation hosted friends and partners for an Evening of Exploration at the newly opened National Geographic Museum. Guests took a private tour of the museum with Jill Tiefenthaler, CEO of the National Geographic Society and Inasmuch Foundation board member. Then, everyone gathered in the museum courtyard for Wonders of Our World: Ocean, an immersive nighttime experience of light, sound, and projection, before ending the evening with dinner and conversation.

Inasmuch Foundation is grateful to Jill for welcoming everyone to this incredible space, and to everyone who joined for such a memorable evening. ๐Ÿ’›

While in DC, the Inasmuch board also approved an exciting slate of Fall 2026 grants! ๐Ÿ‘€ More to come soon.

The team at Inasmuch Foundation worked with Brent Bushey for almost 15 years both as CEO of Oklahoma Public School Resource Center and most recently as CEO of Fuel OKC . Brent was responsible for building an ecosystem of quality seats for kids in Oklahoma City. Inasmuch Foundation is heartbroken to hear of Brentโ€™s passing but knows Oklahoma City will keep his memory alive by continuing to fight hard for amazing opportunities for every child. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Brentโ€™s family and friends.

On August 28, Inasmuch Foundation joined Arnall Family Foundation and Kirkpatrick Foundation to visit the dog training facility inside Mabel Bassett Correctional Center. The Guardian Angels Dog Program launched in 2014.

Every part of this program reflects the power of public-private collaboration. Supported by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections (ODOC) and Oklahoma State University Veterinary Medicine, Guardian Angels pairs eligible incarcerated women with rescue dogs for months of hands-on training, offering participants purpose and connection while giving dogs a path toward adoption. The kennel itself came to life through a partnership between ODOC and Oklahoma CareerTech, whose instructors worked alongside program participants to construct the facility, helping them build construction skills to carry into reentry.

Thank you to Secretary of Public Safety Tricia Everest for touring everyone and making us aware of the program.
