Formless Matter and Its Devastating Gestures transforms Campbell Art Park through a monumental outdoor installation by Oklahoma City–based artists Denise Duong and Gabriel Friedman.

Featuring six large-scale sculptural forms, including a towering head and four walk-through birdlike structures, the work explores memory, family, resilience and the search for meaning within chaos. Visitors are invited to move through the installation and discover shifting perspectives and imagined worlds woven throughout the work. The exhibition opens today at Oklahoma Contemporary.

For generations, Kirkpatrick Auditorium has been a place where Oklahoma City University students found their voice, honed their craft and stepped onto the stage for the first time. Now, OCU is investing in the future of those artists with a $25 million renovation of the facility, including a $13 million gift from the Kirkpatrick philanthropic partners.

At the announcement event, KFF President Christian Keesee reflected on the vision his grandparents, John and Eleanor Kirkpatrick, had when they first helped expand OCU’s fine arts facilities nearly 60 years ago — and the opportunity to once again invest in a space that has shaped generations of performers, musicians and storytellers.

The renovation will preserve the history and architectural character of the iconic building while creating a modernized performing arts space for students, audiences and the broader Oklahoma City arts community for generations to come. More information: https://bit.ly/4v45hsh

Creativity, critical thinking and the ability to make thoughtful decisions in uncertain situations are increasingly valued across industries. Those skills are developed through creative practice — in music rooms, art studios and theater programs where students learn to collaborate and think originally.

In a recent article, award-winning music and arts education advocate Bob Morrison explores how arts education helps build the very capacities employers identify as essential for the future workforce.

As schools continue redefining “career readiness,” arts education remains an important part of preparing students for the future. Read more: https://bit.ly/3R9Nhya

Many teens are making decisions that impact their health without credible information, often turning to peers or online sources where misinformation is common.

Kami Kuykendall, Executive Director of Teen Empower, is focused on making sure young people have access to clear, reliable information.

“Providing accurate, judgment-free education equips teens with the knowledge to prevent unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections,” Kuykendall said. “It also helps them understand consent, boundaries and healthy relationships, and builds confidence as they navigate complex situations.”

“This work is fundamentally about equipping young people with the tools to make informed, values-aligned decisions and to build a strong foundation for lifelong health,” she said.

“In 2026, Teen Empower is focused on expanding community-based programming, strengthening partnerships and developing strategies that support long-term sustainability,” Kuykendall said. “The Kirkpatrick Family Fund’s support has been foundational to our ability to deliver consistent, high-quality programming and expand access to the youth who need it most.”
