The 2026 midterm election is coming up on Tuesday, November 3, and the League of Women Voters of Oklahoma has put together a nonpartisan voter guide featuring FAQs and candidate information available in print or online at okvoterguide.com. The guide is available in Spanish and English.

Races on the ballot include many state-level leadership positions including Oklahoma governor, attorney general, and superintendent of public instruction, along with a US Senate seat and US House of Representative seats. State House and Senate seats are also on the ballot, along with races for judges, county and city offices, and state questions.

The league encourages voters to meet candidates in person, attend candidate forums and debates, watch recorded interviews and events, and connect through campaign websites to learn about candidates directly—instead of from unvetted sources that might not be authentic. Voters must have an up-to-date photo ID to cast a ballot.

Kirkpatrick Foundation has supported the publication of the guide each general election cycle since 2016.

Today, the League of Women Voters, Campaign Legal Center, and state and local Leagues nationwide – including the League of Women Voters Charleston – secured a permanent court victory protecting our ability to register new U.S. citizens to vote at naturalization ceremonies. 🗳️🎉

A federal court in Maryland permanently blocked the USCIS rule that barred civic groups like ours from offering this service.

In 2024, the League registered more than 15% of all new American citizens to vote at naturalization ceremonies, part of a decades-long tradition of welcoming new Americans into our democracy on Day 1 of citizenship. This ruling means we can keep showing up, just like we always have.

The League of Women Voters of Oklahoma does NOT support State Questions 845 and 847.

SQ 845, if passed, would degrade current restrictions that provide checks and balances for avoiding the possibility of corruption in the nominating process for judiciary appointments.
SQ 847, if passed, would impact local communities ability to invest in public schools and other essential local services, especially in rural areas.
