WILDFIRE MOBILIZATION UPDATE

Brush 51 and crew returned home Wednesday afternoon and received word yesterday that they would be redeploying to the Little Giant Fire. They depart today at 12:30.

Brush 51 is deploying as part of Central Region Strike Team 2.

Partnership Matters ❤️🐾

Today, we had the opportunity to partner with Stafford Creek Corrections Center for a fun family day for their staff and families.

Our Timber Tails team — along with our incredible community partners at All Fur Them and FURgent Care Unit, who support the Freedom Tails program — got to be part of the day and share what these programs are all about.

Freedom Tails and Timber Tails share the same mission: rescuing dogs, giving them a second chance, and bettering our community in the process. Today was another wonderful example of what can happen when we come together.

Lots of people got to learn more about the program, meet some amazing dogs, and see firsthand what these partnerships can accomplish.

🐾 Chappy and Koira both had meet-and-greets today — and the best part? They will both have new homes waiting for them when they complete their programs!

🎓 And Frankie graduated! Tomorrow, he heads off to his new home and the next chapter of his life.

My body may not be thrilled about the six miles of walking dogs back and forth today 😂, but our hearts are absolutely full.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to share this program with so many people and to continue building partnerships that make a difference — for people, for dogs, and for our community.

Partnership matters. And today was a pretty great reminder of why. ❤️🐾

Did you know?

Logjams and large woody materials (LWM) in rivers protect riverbanks! Instead of letting the fast water wash away the dirt and create mudslides, LWM help build them up and deflect the powerful flows away from the banks.

LWM also catch and trap sediment and gravel, helping to create new spawning grounds for fish and giving plants a place to take root.

We went in for a little “Chamber business” again today and somehow walked out with an Elma Cristo, a bagel with cream cheese, and two Red Bull spritzers.

The Elma Cristo was unreal! The bagel with cream cheese was so delicious! The Red Bull spritzers were probably necessary considering the amount of things we have going on around here.

We love getting out and trying what our local businesses have to offer… especially when our job description can be loosely interpreted to include eating good food.

Go give Kaleidoscope Coffee and Boba some love!❤

The kitchen floor project phase 1 - the new floor is mostly down and looks great. We want to thank the Grays Harbor Community Foundation, grange members and the community who have supported fundraisers for the new flooring. Thank you everyone.
