🇺🇸 Four Years Strong at the McCleary Bear Festival! 🐻⚜️

Last Saturday, Scouts from Troop 4014 proudly marched in the McCleary Bear Festival Parade for the fourth consecutive year. It’s always an honor to represent Scouting and be part of this great community tradition.

Before the parade, our Scouts volunteered at Summit Pacific Medical Center’s Wellness Booth, where they helped with one of the event’s biggest attractions: a pedal-powered smoothie bike! Riders generated the energy to power a blender and make their own fresh smoothies, proving that healthy living can be both fun and interactive.

Thank you to Summit Pacific Medical Center and the McCleary Bear Festival organizers for another great day of community service and Scouting!

This weekend, the troop attended the Olympic District Spring Camporee in Yelm. The event featured a fun western theme and offered several merit badge opportunities, including Wilderness Survival, First Aid, Pioneering, Photography, and Signs, Signals, and Codes.

In addition to merit badges, Scouts participated in a variety of activities such as a chess tournament, BB shooting, tomahawk throwing, a branding station, and a Scouts with Special Needs awareness booth. Congratulations to Uriah from our troop for taking 1st place in the chess tournament!

With perfect weather and a full schedule of activities, it was a great weekend and a lot of fun for the scouts

Yesterday a group of our scouts participated in a five-mile hike around the Lake Sylvia area, undeterred by the weather.

Last month, our adult leaders represented Troop 4014 at the Pacific Harbors Olympic District Awards Dinner — and they showed up strong.

In Scouting, every Scout deserves a trained leader. We take that seriously, and our team continues to set the standard.

Today, the City of Elma paid tribute to Dee Depoe's 45 years of selfless service to the community.

In tribute to Dee's remarkable dedication to literacy and her tireless commitment to the residents of Elma, the City dedicated a "Little Book Depoe" in her honor. Dee's unwavering passion for connecting individuals with books has had a profound and lasting impact on our community.

Abby, a member of the girls' troop, was present at the dedication ceremony and unveiling of the little library, which she and her fellow Dragon Patrol members beautifully decorated.

Troop 4014 would like to express heartfelt thanks to the Peninsular Railway and Lumberman’s Museum for a very hospitable weekend. They were very friendly and generous to our Scouts. We highly recommend that you give them a visit during one of their special event train rides!
