Thank you to all the amazing professionals and guests who joined us yesterday for our Professional Estate Planning Seminar. We had more than 20 attendees from all over our area who came to learn about advanced estate planning strategies. A big thank you especially to our speakers: Todd Blodgett, attorney with Eisenhower Carlson, Attorneys at Law, and John F. Unterreiner, CLTC®, CAP®, Director of Philanthropic Planning at Socium Advisors.

If you'd like to learn about how estate planning and tax-smart giving can benefit you and your family, email the Foundation at [email protected] or visit our website at summitmedicalfoundation.org.

Summit Pacific Medical Foundation Student Scholarship Fund is now receiving applications for 2026. Last year, The Foundation awarded twenty-seven scholarships of $1,500 to graduating high school seniors from East Grays Harbor County pursuing healthcare and related fields (i.e. IT, marketing, business, nutrition, data science, etc.). In addition, we award three scholarships to second year nursing students at Grays Harbor College.

Applications and requirements can be found at https://summitmedicalfoundation.org/student-scholarship/

Application deadline: May 1, 2026
Award announcement: June 2026
Questions may be directed to Shelby Pollard at 360-346-2222, or by email at
[email protected]

Employees of Summit Pacific and members of the community contribute annually to a scholarship fund to promote the education of local students. A scholarship committee reviews applications, interviews and selects recipients who best meet the criteria and show initiative to follow through with their chosen academic program.

The Student Scholarship Fund, first established through the Foundation in 1994, has provided 152 scholarships to students in the Grays Harbor County Public Hospital District No.1. While the scholarship fund was originally started by an anonymous donor, today, Summit employees make up most of the donations to the fund. Community members are also welcome to donate to the fund here:

Small, rural hospitals like Summit Pacific Medical Center face many challenges, but our goal remains the same every day: Summit is dedicated to serving the people of Grays Harbor County and providing the highest level of care possible so that we can become the healthiest community in the Nation!

Last year, Summit provided 59,227 primary care visits, 18,336 ER visits, and 32,310 diagnostic imaging scans. Each hospital and provider visit represents essential, life-saving care for our neighbors, our families, and our loved ones.

Before midnight tonight, please give a year-end gift in support of the critical work our providers do every day. Your gift will provide life-saving care to patients in our local community.
