In less than 24 hours, our community helped us reach our very first fundraising milestone! 🎉

The first $1,000 is officially on the board, and we couldn't be more grateful. Every donation, every share, and every word of encouragement is bringing us one step closer to making this vision a reality.

Thank you for believing in the future of Elma athletics and our community. This is just the beginning—next stop: $5,000! 💙🦅

A Vision Worth Investing In. 💙🦅

This week, we began mailing letters throughout our community asking for support of the Save Davis Field Foundation's first fundraising goal: building the locker rooms at Elma's new athletic complex.
This project is about so much more than a building. It's about creating opportunities for generations of students, providing a place where our community can gather, and helping Elma host playoff games, tournaments, and regional events that will benefit our schools and local businesses for years to come.

The Elma School District has already made an incredible commitment to this vision, and grants and the upcoming capital projects levy will help fund major portions of the complex. Our role as the Foundation is to help fill the remaining gaps—and we are starting with raising $700,000 for the locker room facilities.

Every donation, whether it's $25 or $25,000, brings us one step closer to making this vision a reality. Just as importantly, local support helps us qualify for additional grant opportunities, multiplying the impact of every dollar given.

If you receive one of our letters in the mail, we hope you'll take a moment to read it and consider joining us in building something that will serve Elma for decades to come.
Thank you to everyone who has already supported this project and to those who continue to believe in the future of our students and our community.

Together, we're not just building an athletic complex—we're building a legacy. 💙
If you'd like to contribute or learn more, please send us a message or email [email protected].

Donations can be made through our Venmo attached below, and also at Timberland Bank or mailed to: Save Davis Field Foundation PO Box 182 Elma, WA 98541

After a series of facilities meetings this spring to discuss infrastructure projects for the Elma School District to pursue, a consensus has been reached for Davis Field.

📢 Community Facilities Planning Update – June 17 Meeting

Thank you to everyone who attended our recent community meeting. We had many new faces in attendance, which meant a large portion of the discussion focused on answering questions and reviewing information that has been shared at previous meetings. We appreciate the continued engagement and thoughtful questions from our community.

Key Takeaways
âś… The School Board's discussion regarding moving approximately $2.1 million into the Capital Projects Fund received nearly unanimous support from those in attendance.
This transfer must occur before the end of July as the district prepares its budget for August. District leadership indicated these funds would be used to begin moving the stadium project forward, including making necessary deposits and starting the next phases of development.

✅️Why the New Athletic Hub Location?
Many questions continue to center around why improvements are being proposed at the elementary campus rather than Davis Field. Several factors continue to drive this decision:
• Davis Field faces significant infrastructure challenges, including ADA accessibility concerns, ongoing sinkhole issues, bathroom limitations, and increased insurance costs.
• Grant opportunities are limited at Davis Field because the site does not meet many of the requirements needed to compete for major funding opportunities.
• The current RCO grant focuses on creating usable green space and site preparation that can support future growth.
• RCO has confirmed that work can be integrated, meaning the planned stadium can be incorporated into the green space improvements funded through the grant.
• Rebuilding Davis Field would require a large-scale infrastructure overhaul all at once, while improvements at the elementary site can be completed in phases, allowing progress to continue even if future funding opportunities take longer than expected.
Student Voices Matter
One of the most important factors in this process has been listening to students.
Feedback from previous meetings included concerns about: • Injuries occurring at Davis Field • Lack of restroom facilities • Wanting a facility they can be proud of and capable of hosting events. Providing modern facilities creates opportunities not only for athletics but also for academics, extracurricular activities, and increased scholarship opportunities for our students.

Understanding the Future Levy
One important point discussed is that approximately two-thirds of the proposed levy projects are focused on student safety and infrastructure needs, including asphalt replacement, parking improvements, and other essential campus improvements.
The athletic facilities are only one piece of a much larger conversation about improving district facilities for current and future students.

Potential Long-Term Benefits
Community members also discussed potential future economic impacts that could come from creating a centralized athletic hub, including:
• Increased visitors to our community • Support for local restaurants and businesses • Additional lodging opportunities • Future transportation and infrastructure improvements as activity grows

Community Communication
A recurring theme throughout the evening was the desire for better communication and transparency. As a foundation, we fully agree.
We shared that one of our goals is to work alongside the district to help communicate accurate, timely information through community meetings, flyers, social media, and face-to-face conversations—especially with residents who may not regularly use social media.
Now that many of the major funding discussions are becoming clearer, we will be able to provide more specific updates moving forward.

Looking Ahead
đź“… The group plans to meet again in August, with the goal of having levy details finalized by the end of September. This timeline will allow the district to begin public outreach and education efforts well before voters are asked to make a decision.

Thank you to everyone who continues to ask questions, attend meetings, and stay engaged in the future of our students and community. We remain committed to sharing information as it becomes available and helping ensure the community has the facts needed to make informed decisions.

Please join us next week for our next Community Engagement Meeting to learn more about the progress being made on the stadium project and other prioritized needs within our school district.

These meetings are an opportunity to ask questions, stay informed, and have your voice heard. Thanks to the involvement of our community, we've seen more progress on these important projects than we have in a long time, and that momentum continues when people show up and participate.

We hope you'll join the conversation and help shape the future of our schools. Every voice matters, and together we can make a difference. 🦅💙🤍

Communication and transparency are key to making this project a reality, and we want our community to know that we are continuing to move forward behind the scenes every day!

Right now, we are waiting for the project management company to receive the hard bids needed to fully lay out the scope and cost of this project. While it may seem quiet publicly, there is still important work happening to help move this vision forward the right way.

As soon as all necessary bids are back and we have the information needed to present a clearer project outline, we will be scheduling our next community engagement meeting. We look forward to sharing updates, answering questions, and continuing to build this project together with the school district and all of you.

Thank you for your continued support, patience, and belief in this vision for our community. 🦅💙🤍

⚠️Big news from Save Davis Field Foundation!⚠️

We are excited to share that our project location is moving to Elma Elementary School marking a major step forward in expanding our impact across the entire school district and community! 🦅💙🤍

What started as a mission to build covered grandstands has grown into something even bigger. We are now working to support all athletic facilities throughout the district by creating a general improvement fund. While our immediate focus remains constructing covered grandstands at the new athletic fields, our long-term vision includes a new track, turf field, and continued development of all athletic spaces, leveraging the RCO grant we’ve already secured.

This move opens the door to incredible opportunities. The elementary site allows room for future growth, expansion, and a centralized athletic complex that can serve our entire community for years to come.
We’re also continuing to collaborate closely with the school district to identify and plan for other critical needs, including:
• Improved asphalt and infrastructure
• Lighting at baseball and softball fields
• Roof updates across school buildings
• Modernized heating systems in our school buildings
And that’s just the beginning.

These projects matter—for our students, our athletes, and our community. Your voice and involvement are essential as we move forward. Please continue to show up, stay informed, and support these efforts at upcoming community engagement meetings.

💙🤍Together, we’re building something lasting.💙🤍
