The Civic Club of Oakland, Maryland, is a local chapter of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC). The group supports over 20 local organizations.

The annual Antique & Maker Market & Cafe (Autumn Glory weekend) is our major fundraising event.

Runway for a Cause....Fun, Friends, and Style! was an enjoyable event with clothing from Chico’s of Morgantown. Guests enjoyed a catered lunch by Goehringers and had the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets to bid on 27 baskets. In addition, sales were brisk at the “Gently Worn and Beautifully Reborn” jewelry tables. Thank you to our sponsors: Stefanie Cornish of Vanity Station Salon, First United Bank & Trust, and Garrett Regional Medical Center. Join us for the Civic Club’s first Runway for a Cause Fashion Show . . . Fun, Food, Friends . . . And Style. The event will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church Parish Hall from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. The cost is $50. Reservations may be made by mailing a check made out to the Civic Club of Oakland to P. 0. Box 167, Oakland, MD 21550. Reservations are due by June 3. All proceeds benefit local nonprofits.

The Civic Club of Oakland will host its 6th Annual Anything Goes Flea Market on Saturday, April 25. The market is a fundraiser supporting the Civic Club of Oakland’s scholarship programs at Garrett College and promises something for everyone. Vendors will include farmers, crafters, artists, bakers, and individuals looking to clear out attics and garages.
