Something special is coming to prom season! ❤️

Trenton’s Promise and Garrett County Lighthouse are joining forces for THE PROM NIGHT PROMISE DRIVE! 🌟

Our message is simple: EVERY STUDENT DESERVES TO SHINE.

We believe every student deserves the opportunity to feel confident, included, and ready to make memories on prom night — regardless of their circumstances.

As we look ahead to the 2027 prom season, we’re asking our community to start thinking about those dresses and suits hanging in the back of your closet!

Today, we’re wrapping up our final bullying prevention presentation for October!

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to every school that has opened its doors to Trenton’s Promise and welcomed us to share our mission with their students.

Through bullying prevention, youth advocacy, and resilience-building, we strive to equip children with the confidence and tools to navigate challenges, speak up when something isn’t right, and know when to ask for help.

We believe every child deserves to feel safe, supported, included, and valued. Through education and outreach, we hope to make a lasting difference in our community.

In the most loving honor of Trenton Switzer, we are turning heartbreak into purpose. Through Trenton’s Promise, we are keeping his name alive by bringing bullying prevention into schools, starting important conversations, and helping children understand the impact their words and actions can have on others. Our hope is that every presentation plants a seed of awareness, gives a child the confidence to speak up, or reminds someone who may be struggling that they are not alone.

As we close out our October presentations, we are reminded that Trenton’s legacy is about more than remembering him. It’s about the lives we can touch, the conversations we can start, and the positive changes we can help create in his honor.

His story is part of why we do this work. His promise is what keeps us moving forward.

October is Bullying Prevention Month. 🧡💙

As part of our commitment to creating kinder, more connected schools, Trenton’s Promise spent time with students talking about something that starts from within — how we feel about ourselves.

Through our Wrinkle Effect activity, students got to see how words and actions can leave an impact. And honestly, hearing those little voices as each wrinkle was made was a moment that stayed with us. Those little wrinkles may have looked simple, but they carried a much bigger message — our words matter.

We also shared affirmations and talked about how building each other up can change the way we treat the people around us.

Because when kids feel valued, confident, and like they belong, they’re more likely to extend that same kindness to others. 🧡

Sometimes, creating a kinder school starts with helping one child believe they matter. 💙

We’ll be bringing this message to more schools throughout October. 🧡🦋

🧡 October is National Bullying Prevention Month. 🧡

At Trenton’s Promise, we believe prevention begins with building children up—not tearing them down.

Our focus is creating positive experiences that help children feel valued, confident, included, and supported. When children feel good about themselves and understand their own worth, they are better equipped to extend that same kindness and respect to others.

That’s why we focus on kindness, confidence, connection, and belonging.

Because creating change doesn’t always start with talking about what’s wrong.

Sometimes, it starts with showing children what’s right.

This October, let’s make kindness contagious. Let’s build each other up, create spaces where every child feels they belong, and remind our youth of something simple but powerful:

🎂 Introducing The Birthday Promise 🎁

Trenton’s Promise is launching something new. ❤️

The Birthday Promise was created with a simple belief:

Every child deserves to feel celebrated.

We’ll provide a special birthday package to local children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to celebrate their birthday.

Each package will include a few simple things to make their day a little brighter—a small gift, something to help celebrate, and a reminder that they matter.

This program is referral-based. School counselors, teachers, social workers, and approved community partners can refer a child.

Referrals are not accepted directly from families or individuals.

To refer a child, email [email protected] with the child’s first name and age. School.

We are incredibly grateful to have received a very generous general donation in support of Trenton’s Promise.

This meaningful gift will help provide the support and resources needed to move forward with the programs and initiatives we are working to establish through Trenton’s Promise — from our youth outreach and anti-bullying efforts to the programs we hope to bring to our community in the future.

Through Trenton’s Promise, we’re taking that message beyond words and putting it into action — one child, one friendship, one act of kindness at a time.

The play was absolutely adorable, but the message behind it was even more beautiful. 🎃🧡

Spookley reminded us that being different is something to be proud of, and that kindness has the power to make someone feel seen, accepted, and valued. 💛
