SPARK Awards applications open this Friday 10/30!SPARK Awards fund projects that need short-term infusion of funds for school food system and marketplace improvements, such as capacity-building, planning, and product testing projects.

Award Range: $30,000-$100,000

Grant Cycle: 1 year

Application Window: October 30th - January 22nd.

It's National Food Waste Prevention Week and the theme this year is Food Heroes in Your Neighborhood! Seven Generations Ahead is proud to nominate Becky Brodsky for the Cart Strategist award because she expertly plans and strategizes what she will buy at grocery stores, farmers markets, and bulk shops to ensure that no food is wasted.

In addition to her excellent shopping skills, Becky is one of the strongest Food Waste Heroes we know. Under her leadership, the Zero Waste Schools team has supported 70+ schools reduce lunchroom waste. Each year, an average of 9.603 tons of food waste is diverted from the landfill. We are incredibly grateful for Becky's passion-filled work!
