Thank you to everyone who joined us this Saturday for Preschool Banned Book Storytime! A special thank you to Megan Madison for stopping by and signing our copy of Our Skin: A First Conversation About Race.

All families are invited to join Pilgrim Community Preschool Teachers and Staff for a family storytime featuring some of the most frequently challenged and banned children's books such as Hair Love, Our Skin, The Family Book, All Are Welcome Here and Tango Makes Three. This storytime was created to be held during Banned Books Week as a way to celebrate the beautiful diversity of our community and raise awareness of the dramatic increase in the challenging and banning of children’s picture books in public schools that primarily focus on themes of social justice, race, racism, and LGBTQ. According to Pen America, over 6,870 books were challenged or banned in school districts during the 2024-25 school year alone!

Our doors will open at 9 am, follow the signs to join us. We hope to see you there!
