Last night, students gathered to share the highlights of their summer experiences. Their presentations showcased a diverse array of pursuits, including CIEE Language & Culture study abroad trips, pre-college programs, music education, and medical career exploration.

Congratulations again to all of the grant recipients! We look forward to seeing how these experiences shape their future endeavors.

On Friday, some of the Foundation Team and Board visited the Oak Park Regional Housing Center redevelopment of the Laramie & State Bank that is now open to residents! As Executive Director Athena Williams shared, “Together, this collective is demonstrating what is possible when public, private, and community partners work hand-in-hand to deliver high quality homes, strengthen neighborhood corridors, and create lasting impact for one community, Austin, and for all Chicagoans."

Thank you to the Oak Park Business and Civic Council for inviting Representative La Shawn K Ford to a breakfast conversation! It was inspiring for the group to hear how La Shawn will represent Chicago’s west side in DC, his care and interest in affordable housing and healthcare for this region, and a good discussion about the importance of the 2030 Census.
