We can’t wait to welcome you for our with On April 4th! 🎻 Accompanying Sean for Saturday’s program is ! 🎹 Hailed by The Mercury News (San Jose, CA) as “a pianist with insight and passion, practically vanishing into the notes,” Jingwen Tu has built a vibrant career as a soloist and chamber musician, performing widely across North America and Europe.
Recent highlights include a concerto appearance with The Orchestra Now under the baton of Charles Barker, as well as solo and chamber music performances at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, the Rose Studio of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Bard Fisher Center, and Matav Music Hall in Budapest, among other distinguished venues. A dedicated chamber musician, she has collaborated with eminent artists such as Peter Serkin, Donald Weilerstein, and Colin Carr.
Equally committed to music education, Ms. Tu is a passionate advocate for the next generation of musicians. She is currently on the faculty of the Bard College Conservatory Preparatory Division and serves as Adjunct Professor of Piano at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Ms. Tu holds degrees from Oberlin College (B.M.), The Juilliard School (M.M.), and Stony Brook University (D.M.A.). Her principal teachers include Sedmara Rutstein, Thomas Sauer, Julian Martin, Gilbert Kalish, and Christina Dahl. 💫
