Rockland Works was proud to host Say Yes to Success this week at The Nyack Center, welcoming students from Nyack High School and various Rockland BOCES schools and programs for a morning of discovery, exploration and opportunity.

With over 20 employers, trade organizations and education partners in attendance, students got hands-on experience with industries ranging from healthcare and utilities to civil service, fashion and the skilled trades.

To top it all off, students enjoyed free lunch, raffles, and the chance to network with professionals who are ready to help them take the next step. A huge thank you to The Nyack Center, the Workforce Development Board of Rockland County and all of our amazing employers and partners for making this event possible.

In a continued collaboration with Rockland Works, students in our River View High School learn exactly what to do to ace an interview. During their most recent workshop, learners sat with members of the Rockland Works team to participate in mock interviews.

During their “interviews,” students practiced their elevator pitches, applying their skill sets to various job types and heard all about proper interview etiquette, such as arriving on time and dressing appropriately.

This practical experience will aid learners as they search for part-time jobs, creating a foundation as they prepare to start their careers after graduation. Rockland Works is Rockland’s one-stop employment and training resource, supporting both the employment and training needs of job seekers and the staffing needs of local employers.
