Women In Northfield Giving Support (WINGS)

Women In Northfield Giving Support (WINGS) WINGS is a volunteer-led group of women who seek to improve the lives of local women and children. We welcome all women as members!

WINGS (Women in Northfield Giving Support) educates and expands the number of women in philanthropy, builds and strengthens community through pooled investments, and improves the lives of women and youth in the Northfield area through focused giving. WINGS grants over $70,000 to local nonprofits each year, making WINGS the second-largest source of philanthropic funds in the Northfield community. W

INGS is a grassroots network of hundreds of women who donate together to improve the lives of women and youth in Northfield. Joining WINGS brings you into a community of women who are making a difference. Views or statements made here are not necessarily shared by the WINGS organization. Congratulations to our student board member Peyton Quaas and the rest of these outstanding students!

Congratulations to NHS students Claire Forbord, Peyton Quaas, Allison Karl, Annie Demas, Annalisa Larson, Khyla Thieling, Isaac Scheif and Zane Engels, who qualified for the Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Leadership Conference in Nashville, TN in May. Northfield's BPA team qualified 15 students for the state competition in early March, and eight qualified for the national competition. Go Raiders!

WINGS is now accepting grant applications for 2026!

WINGS (Women in Northfield Giving Support) invites Northfield area nonprofit organizations to apply for a 2026 WINGS Annual Grant. Grants are given in support of projects benefiting women and youth in the Northfield area. WINGS awards grants to qualified nonprofit organizations, public schools and government organizations for the purpose of general community support. Projects funded must benefit residents in the Northfield Public Schools area.

WINGS funds grants in the following areas of focus:

-Basic needs: housing stability, food stability, economic stability, and safe environments for women and youth
-Education: early learning, out-of-school programs, special needs/at-risk women and youth, and adult learning
-Physical and mental health: health care and healthy behaviors
WINGS grants must be utilized within the year they are awarded. Grant candidates are considered anew in each grant cycle.

In 2025, WINGS celebrated 25 years and has awarded $1.6 million dollars in grants. We invite you to find out more and apply for a 2026 WINGS Annual Grant.

Applications must be submitted electronically by March 1, 2026. If you have any questions, please send an email to Kay Smith at [email protected].
