Hi everyone,

Because of the incident that occurred last week, Carnaval will be held as an intentional space of resistance. Tonight we will dance and celebrate the fact that we are here and we have each other. We won't back down because of the animosity we feel from other students, the school, or the country at large.

Speaking for myself as a senior, I am disappointed that our campus is still unwelcoming, and complicit in these sentiments. I think it is important to recognize each other and everything we give to be here. I want to recognize and celebrate our hard work and struggle. Recognize that we've made it through despite everything and celebrate our strength as a community.

Events will continue as planned at both Casa and the Cave but if you feel you cannot join us tonight we respect that. Feel free to reach out to anyone on the board as well as to each other if you need it.

I hope to see you all tonight!

(We will be breaking a piñata full of american and mexican candies around midnight!)
