We are so excited to welcome Maya Poticha, GMR’s new Senior Regional Director. Maya’s start date is today, Monday, October 12th. Please join us in welcoming Maya! 🤩
Maya is thrilled to return to BBYO, the organization that played an important role in shaping her own Jewish journey. A proud alumna of GMR BBYO (shoutout Korczak), Maya knows firsthand the power of BBYO to create lifelong friendships, develop confident leaders, and build a meaningful connection to Jewish life. ✡️
Maya has spent her career creating engaging experiences for young people and strengthening Jewish community. Most recently, she worked at JCC Chicago, where she led teen engagement initiatives and developed programs focused on leadership, learning, community building, and Jewish connection. She is passionate about creating spaces where teens feel empowered to be themselves, build meaningful relationships, and take an active role in shaping their communities. 🏙️
Maya earned a Bachelor of Science in Theatre and Drama and a Certificate in Jewish Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. 🦡
Maya lives in Chicago with her husband, Brandon, and their dog, Blu. She is so excited to begin this next chapter with BBYO and get to know the incredible community she has the opportunity to serve. 🕎
