Chicagoland Bully Breed Rescue

Chicagoland Bully Breed Rescue CBBR is a foster based rescue. Check out our adoptable dogs or sign up to volunteer at www.CBBR.org CBBR is an all volunteer, foster home based rescue.

We do not have a facility to house animals so we are limited on the type and amount of dogs that we can bring into our program. All donations go directly to the care and well-being of our dogs. We are a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and donations are tax deductible per IRS guidelines. Please note that Subscriber Hub payments on Facebook are not tax deductible. WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTE

R HOMES! Without the help and support of foster homes, we have to turn needy animals away. Help us solve that problem! Some of our volunteer opportunities include:

Foster Care: Volunteers provide in-home care for animals that are sick or too young for adoption. CBBR will identify animals that require foster care and provide food and equipment to foster homes for the proper care of the animal. Foster homes are licensed by the Department of Agriculture, and are subject to inspection by CBBR on an annual basis. Animal Exercising And Dog Walking: Volunteers work with animals to provide exercise and help continue and improve social skills in the animals. Event Volunteer: Volunteers should be willing to work on an as-needed basis before and during fundraising events. Assistance in preparation for events is also needed, which includes mailing, research, brochure distribution, etc. On event day, duties include setup, decorating, photography/videography, registration, ticket booth, serving, etc. Humane Education: Volunteers will assist in handing out information at the summer fairs, events. Volunteers are also needed to help form new programs for the Humane Educational Initiative. Lost And Found Department: You will help match owners with their lost pets. Duties will include checking lost pet bulletin boards, lost pet ads in the classified newspaper ads, and work with other shelters to locate lost pets. Fundraising Team: You will become part of a team who’s job is to create and put together ways for CBBR to raise money. This can be anything from a candy bar sale, pancake breakfast, to a weight pull event. This team is a really important aspect of rescue, as without funds there is no way for us to continue to operate. This is the department in which we are lacking the most currently, so if you feel this is your strength please contact us.

Meet Panda! This sweet short-rider is a 3 year old pit bull mix looking for a warm lap and a fun yard to play in! She loves to run and play, but when it's time to settle down, she will find a lap and snooze the afternoon away. She does like to play with other dogs and seems like she would be great with kids as she loves all humans! She lived with cats previously, but does get really excited to see them so a slow introduction would be best. She also is crate trained and house trained with a schedule.

Eve’s foster family will tell you the same thing within about five minutes of meeting her: she might be one of the easiest dogs they’ve ever had.

When Eve was first found, she had just had puppies and was still full of milk, tied up outside in the cold. It’s the kind of start no dog deserves. But even then, the staff at the vet clinic noticed something right away — Eve was gentle, patient, and incredibly sweet with everyone who helped her.

When she finally got to her foster home, she did what most of us would do after a rough chapter… she rested. A lot. Her foster family figured once she felt better she’d eventually turn into a wild ball of energy trying to make up for lost time.

Turns out… that’s just not Eve.

Eve does have a small burst of excitement every morning. She pops out of her crate with her signature snorts, tail wagging like crazy, ready to greet the day. After that? She settles into her true calling: professional couch companion.

Her daily routine mostly involves finding the sunniest spot in the house, supervising whatever her foster parents are doing, and enjoying a good bone. Cooking in the kitchen? Eve is there. Working on the laptop? Eve is there. Sitting on the couch? Eve is definitely there — usually snoring.

And yes… the snoring is impressive. Think less “dog” and more “tiny couch hippo.”

Despite being used as a breeding dog and missing out on the care she should have had, Eve somehow came out of it all with the softest heart. She’s dog-friendly and enjoys the company of other dogs. Her feelings about cats are still a mystery.

Now Eve is ready for the part of her life that was always supposed to come next — a forever home. One with soft beds, good bones, and people who don’t mind sharing the couch with a snoring hippo who thinks she belongs there.

Eve is available for adoption through Chicagoland Bully Breed Rescue (CBBR) and is looking for her forever home in the Chicagoland area. CBBR requires a completed adoption application and approval before meet-and-greets are scheduled.

If your home could use a little more love, a little more laughter, and the soothing sound of a snoring hippo on the couch… Eve might just be your girl. 🐾
