It turns out Cady was exactly where she was meant to be all along.

After quite a journey, Cady has finally found her home. Sometimes the perfect match isn't obvious right away, and sometimes life has a way of bringing you back to where you belong.

Cady's path included time in foster care, time at the shelter, and plenty of people rooting for her success along the way. Last week, her previous foster mom made it official, and Cady became a permanent part of her family.

Thank you to everyone who supported Cady throughout her journey, especially our volunteers, staff, and trainers who helped her every step of the way.

Cady's kennel was sponsored in loving memory of Maureen A. Branch. That sponsorship helped provide for her care during her time at Niagara SPCA.

Welcome home, Cady.

Pamela and Donald Fliss were taken into custody by Niagara Falls PD today on warrants related to animal cruelty charges stemming from a June 2025 seizure at their Welch Avenue residence.

That investigation began last year when Niagara SPCA Humane Law Enforcement Agents removed six dogs from the property. One of those dogs was in critical condition and required immediate emergency veterinary care.

Following today's arrests, Niagara SPCA Humane Law Enforcement Agents entered the residence and discovered additional animals living at the property, including 4 adult cats, 4 kittens, 3 chinchillas, 11 chickens, and 2 ducks. Agents also recovered several deceased animals from the home.

The animals removed from the home today will be coming into the care of the Niagara SPCA. We are currently seeking homes for the 10 chickens and 2 ducks and encourage anyone interested in providing placement to contact the Niagara SPCA at 716-731-4368, ext 0.

The Niagara SPCA would like to thank Niagara Falls PD and our Humane Law Enforcement Agents for their work on this case.

This remains an ongoing investigation.

Update: all birds have been placed.

After more than 300 days, Arthur found his people.

Arthur recently joined a family with a canine-shaped hole in their hearts. His new sister had lost her longtime housemate, and Arthur approached the situation with patience and respect.

He enjoyed her company, gave her space that she needed, and seemed perfectly content to let their friendship develop at her pace.

We hope Arthur is as healing for her as she is for him.

A heartfelt thank you to his new family for opening their home and hearts to Arthur. Thank you to Superior Fence & Rail for sponsoring his kennel. And to the volunteers who answered Arthur's daily requests for more outside time, more walks, butt scratches and treats...especially treats.

Welcome home, Arthur!🩵
