**RIGHT NOW WE ARE ACCEPTING DONATIONS OF PERSONAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS, DIAPERS, WIPES, TOYS (GENTLY USED OR NEW) We are a group of people who have had our lives impacted by Domestic Violence, one way or another. We want to help other woman at the DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER with ALWAYS collecting various donations. We also have fundraising events planned. So please stay tuned to

this page. Our MISSION to help is going Bigger and Better. HELP US, HELP THEM. THEY ARE NOT ALONE! I would like to introduce myself so you can understand why I am doing this. My name is Racquel Vathy and I started FADV to honor the memory of my sister Amy Vathy - Holliday. She was murdered by her estranged husband at the age of 27. She had left him & was away for three months. But he still came into my home where she was staying with me & shot her three times. We were in the home with her!!! That was the worst day of my life. She had two beautiful children with him. She passed on November 1st, 2008. 14 years ago this year. Her husband killed himself on November 3rd, 2008. From that day on, our family was never the same. It was broken & it still is. My sister Amy was the rock of our family. She was the baby of the family but everyone listened to her. She brightened any room she walked into. Amy was in her last semester of becoming a RN from NCCC. She was strong enough to leave but he wouldn't leave her alone!! She wasn't safe enough staying with me, her own sister. We need to support DOMESTIC VIOLENCE shelters for a safe place for woman to go. And we need to support these woman as much as possible. They need to know that they are never alone. I have dealt with DOMESTIC VIOLENCE one way or another since I was a child, it can take it's toll on you. Emotionally, physically & mentally it can drain your soul. But remember it is NOT YOU! AND YOU ARE NOT ALONE....

ℹ️🌿 TOOLS AND RESOURCES FOR WHEN WE HAVE NO POSITIVE PARENTING ROLE MODELS |

Those of us who come from relational trauma backgrounds share a lot of things in common, and, often, one of those things is often an absence of good, strong, functional mothering/fathering/parenting role models.

And yet, when we’re eager to heal our relational trauma pasts and create a better, more functional, and healthy adulthood for ourselves, being able to think, act, and speak to ourselves as a “good enough” mother, father, or parental figure would, is a critical healing task.

But what do we do when we have no role models and struggle to think, act, and speak like a good enough mother/father/parent? What can we do when we haven’t even the faintest idea of what this would look like?

♡Amy Marie Vathy-Holliday♡ My little sister is the reason why I started the 💜FRIENDS AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE💜 nonprofit organization. She was only 27, had two small children, a promising career as an RN and one of the most caring people you would ever meet. Her estranged husband was a very selfish man. If he couldn’t have her, no one could. And he made sure of it. We thought she was safe staying with family. She wasn’t. This is why we need to help these women. Leaving is hard but staying gone is even harder. They need a safe, anonymous place to go.
