**RIGHT NOW WE ARE ACCEPTING DONATIONS OF PERSONAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS, DIAPERS, WIPES, TOYS (GENTLY USED OR NEW) We are a group of people who have had our lives impacted by Domestic Violence, one way or another. We want to help other woman at the DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER with ALWAYS collecting various donations. We also have fundraising events planned. So please stay tuned to
this page. Our MISSION to help is going Bigger and Better. HELP US, HELP THEM. THEY ARE NOT ALONE! I would like to introduce myself so you can understand why I am doing this. My name is Racquel Vathy and I started FADV to honor the memory of my sister Amy Vathy - Holliday. She was murdered by her estranged husband at the age of 27. She had left him & was away for three months. But he still came into my home where she was staying with me & shot her three times. We were in the home with her!!! That was the worst day of my life. She had two beautiful children with him. She passed on November 1st, 2008. 14 years ago this year. Her husband killed himself on November 3rd, 2008. From that day on, our family was never the same. It was broken & it still is. My sister Amy was the rock of our family. She was the baby of the family but everyone listened to her. She brightened any room she walked into. Amy was in her last semester of becoming a RN from NCCC. She was strong enough to leave but he wouldn't leave her alone!! She wasn't safe enough staying with me, her own sister. We need to support DOMESTIC VIOLENCE shelters for a safe place for woman to go. And we need to support these woman as much as possible. They need to know that they are never alone. I have dealt with DOMESTIC VIOLENCE one way or another since I was a child, it can take it's toll on you. Emotionally, physically & mentally it can drain your soul. But remember it is NOT YOU! AND YOU ARE NOT ALONE....
